Junior is only pissed that Rove got caught on Plame leak.
Go to Atrios and scroll down a bit.

A senior White House spokesperson said, "... Bush was initially furious with Rove in 2003 when his deputy chief of staff conceded he had talked to the press about the Plame leak."

So let me get this straight. If Bush knew about the leak and had no problem with it, he was only pissed that Karl talked to the press about it?

Bush can pardon Rove, but he can't pardon himself. But, if the next president is a Dem, rather than bringing Bush to justice for the Plame leak, why not ship him off to the Hague to stand trial as a war criminal?

1. The way I read this is that Bush is pissed about them getting caught
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 10:33 AM by Jon8503
not so much about what they did. The article mentions Bush being angry about how clumsy they handled it

"Bush did not feel misled so much by Karl and others as believing that they handled it in a ham-handed and bush-league way," the source said.

But the President felt Rove and other members of the White House damage-control team did a clumsy job in their campaign to discredit Plame's husband, Joseph Wilson, the ex-diplomat who criticized Bush's claim that Saddam Hussen tried to buy weapons-grade uranium in Niger.

As usual these people were doing something they knew Bush was ok with and for Rove how he handled the business over the years burning and trashing anyone who got in his & Bush's way.

2. Every day Bush is away from a jail cell, he's
away from home.

3. It's quite common for people tobe upset BECAUSE they got caught!
Many people receive longer sentences from the judge who tells them "you show NO remorse! You are sorry, only because you got caught!"

If Shrub learned about this, I'm sure he was pi**ed, but not nearly as much as Rove himself is!
