Harriet Miers is too stupid to know she won't be confirmed to the court.
Harriet Miers has already demonstrated that she does not deserve to be confirmed to the Supreme Court.

If she really believes that Junior is "... the most intelligent man I've ever known," she's either a fool, a liar, or just plain nuts. Does she really think that there are enough Republican senators willing to march off a cliff by voting for her confirmation?

Assuming she has any self respect, she would withdraw her nomination, go home to Texas, and help George clear brush whenever he comes to Crawford.

1. Well you know, infatuated people just can't think clearly.
And this woman is so enamored of W, it is mind-blowing! Her adolescent notes to him, and her comment to others that he is the smartest man she ever met! ! ! She shouldn't be allowed out without a keeper!

3. I find her "notes" to * extremely immature!
For a women of her age to be giving notes like "Your the best governor ever" is something I'd expect from a child.

8. Oh, come on. Admit it:
Dubya is COOL!!!!!

The woman is in a prolonged adolescence, isn't she? She probably spends time doodling in her notebook: Mrs. George Bush. Mrs. Harriet Bush. George and Harriet Bush. I *heart* Georgie.

2. Oh lord I hope she doesn't do that
That would be the best for President Bush - for her to withdraw. I don't think she will though.

5. Mier's Law License was suspended
I read this morning that Mier's law license was suspended for
failing to pay her bar dues. Anyone know about that. Is it meaningful
in this game?

6. She doesn't deserve to be confirmed, BUT...
Nero never deserved to be President, but that never stopped him.

7. Methinks Arlen's Calling Fredo Boooosh's Bluff
Arlen's the one setting the date here. Yep, I'm sure the White House is going along cause this creates a News Cycle distraction and gets the talking heads to wag their tongues about this mess and not Rove for a few hours.

Remember, Arlen's got a few questions about her qualifications as do several other Repugnican members of that committee. IIRC, there was a group of GOOP Senators who were having their staffers do oppo-research on Harriet. Maybe they're all set to go.

I can't see this regime willing to go forward with the hearings and confirmation without having its house and party firmly in order. Maybe booooosh things he's got the power to crack the whip still on this one. I sure hope he thinks so with a House and Senate leadership in disarray and a White House staff that soon will be spending more time in the Court House than the West Wing.

I'll still stick to my bet this lady will never see a single question before the committee. Expect either a delay or a withdrawl beforehand.
