President George W. Bush was to have lunch with U2 rock singer and poverty activist Bono at the White House, Bush spokesman Scott McClellan said.
McClellan called the invitation a follow-up to their meeting at a July summit of wealthy industrialized nations in Gleneagles, Scotland.

"At this time, the president is not planning on attending the concert tonight, but if there's any change, we'll keep you posted," McClellan quipped.
