Waiting for hurricane Wilma in Palm Beach County.
Junior is in the White House, Jeb is Governor, our votes were stolen in 2000, every child in Palm Beach County has been left behind, we tend to vote for Democrats, and we've been hit with the fringes of four hurricanes the past two years. Now Wilma has us in her sights.

This really sucks. Okay, I admit it. This is middle class bitterness at the forces of nature, and there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

I guess this goes to the core of why I'm a devout agnostic. According to some dogma I've read, there's some "God" who used to do a lot of smiting. It seems to me that all but the wealthy and powerful get smitten by He/She/It these days.

Anyone care to explain this, or is it just one more confirmation that being an agnostic is the most sensible position that can be held by a rational human being? Then again, perhaps this deity is a compassionate conservative.

1. with no offense to the people of florida (especially the ones who
didn't vote for either of the idiot brothers) it will be interesting to see how fast relief and aid get there if wilma does hit.

2. Relief always comes early and with great fanfare to Florida
Jebbie is already patting himself on the back and carefully reminding everyone that FEMA is NOT a first responder..

Best of luck to you all...

4. Might come early and with fanfare
but it sure doesn't get to the people who need it most.

3. Nothing has gotten to NOLA yet, not to mention NYC after 9/11.

No one here is going to hold their breath waiting for any help from the Bush brothers. However, I wonder how many people will show up for any Bush photo ops.

Well, I'm sure he can always bus in a bunch of wingnuts from wherever to smile, wave, and kiss the hem of his toga.
