Condi Rice's DRUMBEAT to WAR with SYRIA AND IRAN!!

Here we go AGAIN...but with the failing war in Iraq, and the lack of troops, could they be possibly be THIS DUMB?? These people need to go and NOW!! They all need to be impeached in my opinion. THEY ARE CRAZY NEOCONS and they are bringing our country to the very brink of destruction.

Also note the lone protestor who was escorted out. Brave woman.

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Wednesday refused to rule out the possibility of...U.S. military force against Syria and Iran...Lawmakers also pressed Rice on strategy for dealing with Iran and Syria, two of Iraq's neighbors. U.S. officials have accused Syria of allowing foreign fighters to cross into Iraq. The Bush administration contends Iran is supporting the Iraqi insurgency.

Rice said the U.S. was using diplomacy to urge a change in the behavior of Syria and Iran. But she stopped short of ruling out military force. "I'm not going to get into what the president's options might be," Rice said. "I don't think the president ever takes any of his options off the table concerning anything to do with military force."

The senators' questioning followed Rice's earlier remark that Syria and Iran "must decide whether they wish to side with the cause of war or with the cause of peace."

As Rice spoke, a woman in the second row of spectators shouted "Stop the killing in Iraq." A police officer motioned her out of the room.

if the coming showdown against this administration (Fitzgerald indictments) could possibly keep us out of another criminal war ... this time with Iran/Syria. Gotta keep hoping .... but these weasels always seem to dodge the bullet. Peace. :)

I hope the good prevails against the evil...however, at the same time, there are enough crazy RW neocons in our current government that the post-impeachment leadership would likely be not much different than the current * admin.

Still, I would like to see justice done and the entire * admin behind bars. Hey - it's happening with Tom Delay - so maybe there IS HOPE after all!

Made my day over the coming hurricane, indictments, whatever war these criminals have in their bag of tricks. One day at a time. A glimmer of hope, can't wait to see the mug shot of Delay. :) Peace.

Getting the indictments in before they start their next war. Wouldn't have to be a full-fledged war. Just a couple bunker-buster mininukes to keep the Iranians in line.

These numbnuts maybe forgot that in the Iran/Iraq war Iran lost more than a half million troops in human wave attacks against the Iraqis. They are not going to be scared by a couple little bombs.

As I suspected six months ago, U.S. military and Bush administration civilian officials confirmed last week that U.S. forces have invaded Syria and engaged in combat with Syrian forces.

An unknown number of Syrians are acknowledged to have been killed; the number of Americans -- if any -- who have died in Syria so far has not yet been revealed by the U.S. sources, who by the way insist on remaining faceless and nameless.

The parallel with the Vietnam War, where a Nixon administration deeply involved in a losing war expanded the conflict -- fruitlessly in the event -- to neighboring Cambodia, is obvious. The end result was not changed in Vietnam; Cambodia itself was plunged into dangerous chaos, which climaxed in the killing fields, where an estimated 1 million Cambodians died as a result of internal conflict.

On the U.S. side, no declaration of war preceded the invasion of Syria, in spite of the requirements of the War Powers Act of 1973. There is no indication that the Congress was involved in the decision to go in. If members were briefed, none of them have chosen to share that important information with the American people. Presumably, the Bush administration's intention is simply to add any casualties of the Syrian conflict to those of the war in Iraq, which now stand at more than 1,970. The financial cost of expanding the war to Syria would also presumably be added to the cost of the Iraq war, now estimated at $201 billion.

The Bush administration would claim that it is expanding the war in Iraq into Syria to try to bring it to an end, the kind of screwy non-logic that kept us in Vietnam for a decade and cost 58,193 American lives in the end.

Others would see the attacks in Syria as a desperation political move on the part of an administration with its back against the wall, with a failed war, an economy plagued by inflation --1.2 percent in September, a 14.4 percent annual rate if it continues -- the weak response to Hurricane Katrina, grand jury and other investigatory attention to senior executive and legislative officials, and the bird flu flapping its wings toward us on the horizon. The idea, I suppose, is to distract us by an attack on Syria, now specifically targeted by U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad.

and Democrats should start the drumbeat of "WAG THE DOG, WAG THE DOG!"

I'm all but certain there will be a groundswell, if not an insurrection, that occurs after any attack, even from many conservatives.

I'm confident that many Americans would, at that juncture, call for Bush's head on a platter.
