I seem to have picked an interesting time to return to the Underground. After the election, I was pretty discouraged, I have to admit. Though I have remained active from a voting and information point of view, I have only recently returned to what I consider as "activism", which includes, for me, getting information from this site and emailing / writing news organizations, politicians, etc. Maybe some of you remember me.

Anyway, this is not a vanity post. My point is that on 9/11, this Administration had a chance to unite this country in a very real sense. This, of course, would have entailed a much more moderate and balanced approach to policies that these people were willing to take, not to mention possibly some form of real coalition.

BushCo took the easy road of using its popularity for short term power in order to benefit its owners, the unAmerican corporatists and the Far Religious right. ALL of the misfortunes that this Administration is going through at this moment is a DIRECT RESULT of the LACK OF LEADERSHIP that it has shown from 9/11 on.

It's payback, and payback's a bitch.
