Desperately Seeking Democrats!
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 03:57 PM by DistressedAmerican
I keep watching the implosion. We all wait with baited breath on the results of the various indictments, investigations and hearings. America has turned on this criminal freakshow and the polls show it clearly.

I still find myself wondering where the Democrats are. We are not presenting much of an alternative per se. We need to come out clearly against this war and start loudly demanding a timetable. I would like to see us stand up and unambiguously demand an end to US torture.

We should be speaking clearly on the issue of poverty, making sure that we do not lose the small silver lining from Katrina. We should be talking all the time about the deficit and how it is hurting this country. Letting them know that the real fiscal conservatives these days are in our party. We should be demanding cuts in pork everyday.

I sure hope that they start demanding resignations from any indicted staffer once the GJ finishes its work. I hope they demand investigations a plenty. But, even more, I hope they begin to articulate a vision.

Right now the country is essentially leaderless. There is a vacuum. However, we will not necessarily fill that vacuum come the next round if we do not make it clear what we want to see for this country.

3. There are a few suggestions in the OP.
Maybe we could work on some or all of those?

HELLO DEMS?

HELLO LEADERSHIP?

HELLO WASHINGTON?

ARE ANY OF YOU LISTENING?

4. Funny, I saw Democratic Senators spanking Condi Rice today over
the admin's BS on Iraq, and all I had to do was turn on CSPAN to see it.

5. Spank Away. Where Were the Demands For A Timetable?
Did they rip her apart on our torture system? did they articulate a vision of their own for getting our troops home? If not, that is not what I am talking about.
