1. I wonder, if he were to agree to testify, would they
frisk him for a listening device that prompts his answers?

I'm not as funny or creative as most DUers, including you. I like the WMD answer better.

4. Oh I remember this so well...
I was around this time that I first began to believe that AirAmerica radio was going to make a big difference in this country and might even help Kerry to win the election.

A guy from Alabama called into the Randi Rhodes show when I was listening while driving home. He had such a strong, southern drawl, very polite calling Randi "Maam" and all, I was picturing the whole stereotype--his hat and his pick-up truck with maybe a gun-rack on it...you can imagine it.

Well he said something about how, "Ah don't know much 'bout history, an ah maht be wrong, but ah don't ever remember hearing 'bout a president needing to have his vice president go with him to testify in front of congress."

Randi sounded amused and just said, something to the effect that, no, it had never happened before, and he was right.

So the guy says, "Well, ah just wanna know if he needs Dickie to go with him to the little boys room and shake it out for him, too!"

I was relieved to have been stopped at a red light because I laughed so hard that it could have been dangerous! I thought, shoot, if a southern good-ole boy is talking like that, we might just have a chance!
