Joe Wilson wasn't the only reason his wife was outed...

Kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

There was a war between Cheney and the CIA.

They would attempt to discredit and hurt Joe Wilson plus show the CIA who was in charge and they better tow the political line or else.

Find the thread titled 'American Judas' on DU. Be prepared to study. This wasn't a trite revenge event. But, you are also right about discrediting the CIA. Actually, is it more than that - PNAC wants the work of the CIA to go to Mil Intel. Since PNAC runs the military, they will have things under their control and not have to argue for or persuade the CIA to do their bidding - like conducting a phoney war.

3. and by exposing the "company" she worked for, they totally ruined

any of the undercover work its "employees" were involved in...mostly that work was finding and limiting the world-wide distribution of WMDs.

Some of them were probably working undercover in places where it is most unhealthy to be known as a CIA agent.

5. THAT is what should be exposed when it comes time to charge the BFEE

with the real crimes surrounding "Plamegate". This was not just a first amendment thing.
