Need links to economics data
I need a couple of links to articles or books that offer an intelligible history of the CPI. Anyone know of such things? ProfessorGAC?

3. Yeah, I have been there, but
don't quite get the history that I want. I am looking for major mods to the way things were computed, additions to the commodity list, etc.

Thanks

4. Are you looking for
a history of the American methodology or just theories of CPI in general?

For example, something that might list when the "Gasoline - Unleaded regular" was added to the list of commodities.

6. Have you looked at the Boskin report yet?
It doesn't get into year by year specifics, but gives a pretty thorough criticism for a relatively brief paper...
