So much more to do
When I was young I was so optomistic. I thought that things like the lessons of the assassinations and Vietnam and later the fall of the USSR and the onset of the internet and global economy would lead us all together. Like the photos of the earth taken from spce showing how we are ALL ONE. But the Bush administration has been a nightmare that we can't wake up from. Maybe with the indictments and revelations of the criminal acts by our "democratic" government we will have a chance again to have a better world. There is still a spark of optomism and idealism left in me. But there is so much more to do. First, stop killing people for profits. Protect our environment. Tell the truth. I sense a groundswell (or is that just on DU?) and I pray to the great spirits that somehow we can leave a better world for our children.

4. there are strict rules for posting in LBN
it's only for actual news reports. but I get you drift.

I hope the american people will learn a lesson from this. my fear is that while we may get these crooks out of office, or at least completely cripple them for the rest of the term, the lessons not learned from vietnam will not be learned again

2. Ya Haqq!
Oh Truth! You have it right. To find peace, we must BE peace-have peace in our hearts. It is a hard spiritual practice, and it does not mean letting those who would destroy to walk all over you. It means to face these people, look them in the eye, showing the peace within your heart. Like rats who scatter in the light, those who destroy will run away. Not an easy task, being a Peaceful Spiritual Person, but a vocation we all need to take up.
