For the MORANS who think Iraq's "insurgents" are all "foreign fighters"
Pay attention, bush;

US national among 376 foreigners captured in Iraq
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1865933

My little town of Killeen, Texas has MORE FOREIGNERS than that.

HELLO morans!

Ya can't "get the Iraqis to fight the insurgents" when the insurgents ARE THE IRAQIS. See, if a foreign invader invaded America YOU morans would lick their boots...the rest of us (liberals, Dems, progressives) would KICK ASS. And be called "insurgents" and "foreign fighters" and "terrorists".

1. IWRECK
People fighting for their own country that has been invaded
are not Insurgants or terrorists, unless you talk with GW Bush.

2. Does it really matter where they are from? The only thing
that matters is that their opposition to US imposed rule is substantial and has cost 2000 US lives and 200 billion. Implying that the whole thing is a plot from outside Iraq seems fruitless. At some point they are going to have to come to terms with the insurgents and address whatever problems they have directly. To not do so will drag this war on forever,

6. Remove Bremer's rules.... remove a lot of reasons for
the insurgency.

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0805-07.htm
Thus, it forbids Iraqis from receiving preference in the reconstruction while allowing foreign corporations — Halliburton and Bechtel, for example — to buy up Iraqi businesses, do all of the work and send all of their money home. They cannot be required to hire Iraqis or to reinvest their money in the Iraqi economy. They can take out their investments at any time and in any amount.
Orders No. 57 and No. 77 ensure the implementation of the orders by placing U.S.-appointed auditors and inspector generals in every government ministry, with five-year terms and with sweeping authority over contracts, programs, employees and regulations.

Order No. 17 grants foreign contractors, including private security firms, full immunity from Iraq's laws. Even if they, say, kill someone or cause an environmental disaster, the injured party cannot turn to the Iraqi legal system. Rather, the charges must be brought to U.S. courts. Order No. 40 allows foreign banks to purchase up to 50% of Iraqi banks. Order No. 49 drops the tax rate on corporations from a high of 40% to a flat 15%. The income tax rate is also capped at 15%.

Order No. 12 (renewed on Feb. 24) suspends "all tariffs, customs duties, import taxes, licensing fees and similar surcharges for goods entering or leaving Iraq." This led to an immediate and dramatic inflow of cheap foreign consumer products — devastating local producers and sellers who were thoroughly unprepared to meet the challenge of their mammoth global competitors.

Clearly, the Bremer orders fundamentally altered Iraq's existing laws. For this reason, they are also illegal. Transformation of an occupied country's laws violates the Hague regulations of 1907 (ratified by the United States) and the U.S. Army's Law of Land Warfare. Indeed, in a leaked memo, the British attorney general, Lord Goldsmith, warned Prime Minister Tony Blair that "major structural economic reforms would not be authorized by international law."

8. "....drag this war on forever"........
I'm beginning to think that is the plan. They DON'T want it to end, there's still money in the Treasury to steal (or IOU's anyway) and they NEED that perceived bogeyman to keep the population in constant fear. The populace can be controlled much better if there's a constant threat to their safety and security. I believe that is their plan, to keep this war going as long as possible. It really is to their benefit.

4. Very well said.......
and you're correct, if this country was invaded WE WOULD be the ones defending it. The freeps and the neo-cons would be cutting deals and kissing ass so they wouldn't be harmed. :patriot:

14. Oh of course
That always gets me because there are Iraqi's fighting against us. It's all a PR ploy to make it appear as though the Iraqi's are happy we're there.
