The souls of innocent civilians creeping up on war criminals
I just finished watching Fog of War for the first time and 3 things Robert McNamara stuck out to me.

1) On the hundreds of thousands japanese civilians murdered: "Had we lost, we would have been war criminals."

2) On unilateralism and vietnam (this sounds familiar): If a superpower can't get the approval of their allies, they need to reassess.

3) He became weepy eyed several times. Was it for the millions of gallons of blood, body parts, families of soldiers, and civilians his calculations resulted in?

Are the souls of the innocent dead swirling around his conscience?

1. Jackie Kennedy Begged Him to Stop the War
I remember reading in a biography written by someone about Jackie Kennedy that, after JFK was killed, she invited Robert McNamara to her apartment in New York for dinner. After dinner, she literally begged him to stop the war. He should feel guilt--he had plenty of impetus to stop that destruction. May he have a lot more tears . . .
