It sounds silly. Childish. Freeperish, even.

Smack me down but it's still an immature way to describe what we've been hoping for.

"Mission Accomplished" sounds good, but I'm sure there are better suggestions. Anyone?

9. You may be right, but considering "Fitzmas" is already FAMOUS
and listed in Wikipedia with credit to Spiralhawk here at DU, I think we should keep using it!

It's also been immortalized by National Review. For me, that's enough right there.

Luv ya, mean it!
:hi:

Maybe it is a little lame, and it could even be argued that it's facetious in light of such a serious event in our country. But we have been waiting for this for 2 years with a lot of frustration and it does convey a sense of celebration - and if Fitzpatrick comes through I intend to celebrate!

Yes, it's childish - I'm 48 years old, and I've earned the right to be a little childish sometimes. If you and others can come up with another name that's less lame, I'll embrace it as well. But, personally, I kinda like "Fitzmas".

BTW, I've read many of your posts, and I have enjoyed them very much.

Here's wishing you a Happy Incarceration Day!
:toast:

edit: we need a grammar check as well as spellcheck.

17. and Mission Accomplished doesn't sound childish, considering its
history, WHO has used it, and the macho man persona it carries? hmmm...I'll stick with Fitzmas, even though I am not even religious or celebrate Xmas.

Neither you nor any of us Accomplished any mission. Fitzgerald did it via the legal system. He didn't do it for us, but because these guys are crooks and criminals, nothing else.

SO no to the Mission Accomplished or any outher self-serving tag line intended to take away credit from who deserves it.

Ay Caramba!

22. I don't like it either... not because it's childish...
... but because it implies that it's certain to be a good day. It very well may not be.

At first, I thought, why call it anything, but then I thought well, it will be a day will perhaps be historical so I'd say call it Fitzday. or maybe just F-Day.

Just my 2 cents...

Edited on Sun Oct-23-05 03:32 PM by donheld
It's the convictions I'm waiting for. As they say you can indict a ham sandwich, and i know the right wingers will be yapping about that for days. What we need is to see these thugs convicted. That's when I will feel real joy. Don't get me wrong. I want to see the indictments, that's a start, but then it must be followed through to the bitter end. Convictions and a stiff jail sentence.

30. Sorry, but there is NO better name than Fitzmas!
The sense of anticipation...

The excitement in the air...

The presents aka indictments all wrapped up with a bow...

Santa in the form of Patrick Fitzgerald....

Yes, it's beginning to look a lot like Fitzmas!
