Neal Boortz: another lying, cowardly Chickenhawk
Edited on Sun Oct-23-05 02:36 PM by CatWoman
Boortz has earned a place among the nation's most prominent "chickenhawks," those who advocate wars, but avoided wartime service themselves. Other leading chickenhawks are Air National Guard deserter George Bush (a person AWOL for more than 30 days, as Bush was, can be charged with desertion), Dick Cheney ("other priorities"), Rush Limbaugh (anal cyst), Saxby Chambliss (bad knees that somehow didn't interfere with athletic pursuits), Bill O'Reilly (he claimed "combat" experience, implying military service, but was actually watching from the sidelines as a journalist), etc.

Boortz would like you to think that he would have been more than willing to do his part during the Vietnam War, but he said on the air that the military "wouldn't have me." It just isn't true.

The truth came out after Kaner and I sought information from Selective Service on Boortz's draft classifications. Boortz received a 1-D deferment in 1964. That deferment was given to those enrolled in programs such as ROTC. Trouble is, during most of the time that Boortz had the deferment, he wasn't in a military program - and therefore was ineligible. In February 1968, he received a new deferment, 3-A, given to those with children or other dependents.

Boortz never ever had a 4-F medical deferment for vision, asthma or anything else.

The records reveal another little known fact about Boortz - his middle name is Adolph. Considering that he was born April 6, 1945, while we were still fighting Nazi Germany, the name selection seems bizarre, sort of like naming a kid "Osama" today. Kaner, in emails to Boortz, addresses him as "Adolph."

1. He is a coward with callers,...
faced with a call he can't deal with, he cuts 'em off and then tells another lie.

Keeps saying the Kay Report says there were WMD, when I know he said the opposite. Dick.

You mean Ma & Papa Boortz didn't wanna name Jr. "Franklin" or "Winston?"

If it had to be somthing Germanic, why not name him after General Eisenhower?

But Adolph- in 1945?

ADOLPH??? in 1945??????????????????????

name given him by his Marine father and military wife mother...you would think they would know better...but, seeing as how Boortz was a speechwriter for Lester Maddox, and knowing some of the speeches Maddox gave...Adolph fits the guy perfectly...I think he should change his on-air name to Adolph.
