Rush did exactly as I thought
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 11:06 PM by quinnox
He confessed on air, and then is going to enter a treatment center, probably some swanky place like the Betty Ford clinic. After he is out, he will write some book on his drug addiction and how he beat it, then be more popular than ever. This is how the celebrity culture works.

2. Rush's addiction
I believe Rush is going into rehab only to avoid charges for substance abuse. He's been in rehab twice before. If the rehab works Rush will no longer be the hate-mongeror he has been. Psychological therapy is part of the clinical rehab treatment. I think the abuse of drugs allowed him the ability to throw so much hate and belittling on a national forum. Rehab teaches we are all flawed and need to be tolerant of others flaws. He has belittled the flawed, the poor, and the needy. If the therapy truly kicks in, he'll be a different person. If it doesn't he'll be back in rehab for a 4th time. My opinion.

8. Yes, but active substance abuse causes some interesting
psychological traits.

- grandiosity
- blaming others
- black and white thinking
- avoiding responsibility
- denial
- congnitive dissonance

Recognize any of that in his behavior the last few years?

11. side effects of oxycontin....will anyone want to listen again to a heroin
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 11:55 PM by amen1234
addict?? didn't rush's crazy fans realize they were listening to a full-blown heroin addict (oxycotin is called "hillbilly heroin")??? is rush's audience really that disconnected to reality ???

it seems that normally sane humans should recognize the drug addict upon listening to rush's crap? will rush's sponsors want to continue funding this admitted drug addict???

here's some of the side effects:

Nervous: abnormal gait, agitation, amnesia, depersonalization, depression, emotional lability, hallucination, hyperkinesia, hypesthesia, hypotonia, malaise, paresthesia, seizures, speech disorder, stupor, tinnitus, tremor, vertigo, withdrawal syndrome with or without seizures.

on edit:

tinnitus
noun

persistent noise in the ear: a continual noise in the ear such as a ringing or roaring, usually caused by damage to the hair cells of the inner ear

5. He's going to rehab to keep from going to jail!
His audience will never look at him the same way, never. Even if they lie to themselves, he has broken their trust and shown himself to be a lying hypocrite. But then...they knew that.

Anybody else would be looking at hard time due to mandatory minimum sentencing.

Rush and Nicole walk.

12. We'll at least get a mug shot out of the whole thing
And Rush's career as a radio talkshow host is over. If corporate america retains him, they leave themselves open to lawsuits from other employees who were fired for drug problems. And we know corporate america won't allow that to happen. Stick a fork in him, he and his message are dead and it couldn't have happened to a better guy.
