I think it is going to be tomorrow
No reason for the suspicion other than a hunch. The capitol city is seething in a state of protracted anxiety, the press is trembling on the edge of their seats, and I, for one, am about to suffer a debilitating spate of tension-related siezures.

It is time for Fitz to drop the hammer.

But here's the thing. He might not. Three scenarios:

1) No indictments, all of DU commits ritual online seppuku simultaneously, and I break every bone in my hand punching something hard;

2) Sealed indictments, which means someone or several someones got their hide nailed to the shed, but we won't know who or for what, and we won't know when we will know. See above;

3) Between one and twenty-two indictments are handed down, potentially ranging from perjury to obstruction to treason, potentially covering Rove and Libby and Miller and Cheney and even George W. Bush, I make in my pants and start flinging poo around like a deranged howler monkey while playing the Hallelujah refrain from Handel's Messiah with the stereo set at eleven. Let that mental image sink in for a second.

I think it's going to be tomorrow. I'm heading out to go bowling, if you can believe it. More throwing of heavy objects and smashing things.

It's been a privilege to sit this watch with you, whatever winds up happening. Stout hearts.

30. Treason, while possible, is highly unlikely.
There has not been a case of treason brought on a federal level since WWII.

Since we don't know what Fitzgerald has, it is possible, but highly unlikely.

Espionage is far mor possible.

127. That's why there is such a thing as a grand jury.
...to answer the question, "does this case have merit, or does it not." To indict without a reasonable suspicion, or not to indict because the suspect happens to be the Vice President of the United States, is to defeat the purpose of the grand jury, and to waste the taxpayers' money.

18. I'm still thinking Wednesday with "sealed" indictments, but not like 2
Not Sealed as in the indictments issued for mobsters. the specifics for requiring keeping the mobster's name secret until they are in custody is so the mobster is not whacked before cops can get to him.

Nope, we will know every name, and most charges.

The "sealed" part will be that certain facts about the indictments will not be known. Those portions of the indictments will be blacked out, or redacted.

There may also be some charges that are redacted from public knowledge due to the sensitive National Security nature. All other bits redacted from the released information wil also be due to National Security concerns.

The Grand Jury won't be able to speak of the case as they will be held under similar constraints as former CIA agents or military personnel who had the highest security classifications.

20. Won't be treason, Will...
The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offense is punished with death. By the same article of the Constitution, no person shall be convicted of treason, unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

http://www.lectlaw.com/def2/t103.htm

I don't see that particular charge being applied to anyone in this case. Espionage...well, maybe.

37. Don't you think that bringing down an entire CIA operation
designed to get WMD information about our enemies is tantamount to giving them aid? Espionage is definitely in play here, or should be. If Fitz indicts with everything he can indict for, espionage is certainly one of the charges---and, since the "classified material" shared with unauthorized persons deal with WMD, the death penalty is in play, as well--US Code 18 Section 794---but, 793 and 10 years in prison works pretty good too.

The requirements are strict...
There has to be two witnesses also. I think this is why it's so rarely used.

I'm more inclined towards espionage being possible for the very reasons you mentioned.

80. See this David Corn article about the possibility of sealed indictments:
http://www.davidcorn.com/archives/2005/10/sealed_indictme.php

<excerpt>:
It could be that special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald might choose to file sealed indictments before the grand jury expires at the end of next week. That would mean that the names of the indicted would be unknown to the public--unless the information leaked.

Why would Fitzgerald do this? Perhaps he has not finished investigating. It could be that recent developments--Judy Miller's testimony, Karl Rove's return to the grand jury, the Daily News story that indicates Rove and George W. Bush discussed the leak (and Rove's involvement in the matter) two years ago--have provided him additional leads to chase down. (The Daily News story--see the items below--does raise important questions.) In such a case, Fitzgerald might want to bank several indictments, impanel a new grand jury, and keep digging. This is--needless to say--speculation. But anyone waiting anxiously for indictments should keep this scenario in mind.

58. Nails are bitten down.. now working on the bones....
but think with you it will be tomorrow...since there were rumors he could convene tomorrow instead of Wednesday which is the usual.

I think two indictments...maybe one more. If he thinks he has more power...he will hold back and try to get the other "little sharks" if he can get his Grand Jury extended. I've not seen any speculation on the Liberal Blog Sites about how he could extend the GJ...so it may not be possible.

Yet ...I think he will extend it and go for a couple of indictments hoping to flesh out more later.

But, my guess could be as wrong as anyones. It's my gut...but having waited so long for so little...I guess I don't trust my gut as much as I used to. :D ....lol's

Imagine the Republican party winning races any time before 2010.

The question is, how loyal is **? My suspicion that when the chips are down, and the villagers are carrying torches, the loyalty is all one way.

NOTE: An official cannot succeed to the Presidency unless that person meets the Constitutional requirements.
1. The president pro tempore presides over the Senate when the vice president is absent. By tradition the position is held by the senior member of the majority party.
2. Carlos Gutierrez was born in Cuba and is ineligible.
3. Elaine Chao was born in Taiwan and is ineligible.
4. In late July 2005, the Senate passed a bill moving the Homeland Security secretary to number 8 on the list. The bill is awaiting House approval.

Really. You could have spared me that. But no. You're Mr. William Rivers Pitt, mighty wielder of images both subtle and gross. And that was gross. Really. Gross.

Handel's Messiah? Clearly the occasion would be essentially Wagnerian in its essential nature. "Flight of the Valkyre", conjuring images of hordes of avenging helicopters spearheaded by Robert Duval proclaiming his love of the smell of napalm in the morning ...

Now THAT goes with making in your pants and flinging poo around like a deranged howler monkey. Get it right next time, dammit.

treason? I just can't see that happening. Isn't the sentence for treason death?

I certainly do believe that treason was committed by the cabal, but I can't see Fitz charging anyone with it. If my mind serves me correctly, only two people in US history have been successfully charged with treason, one being John Brown.

Sedition? I could see that! And the word has an evil ring to it. :D

103. If someone elected (Cheney or Bush) is involved then it's likely.
Their trial would be political. Impeachment. It would make sense to charge treason what with the war on terror and all. Wouldn't be able to find 3 people who would admit voting for them. Politically they would be done. Wooden stake in the heart. Conviction would just remove them from office.

104. Possible, but several big ifs
If the real reason for outing Plame was to destroy Brewster Jennings (and getting Wilson was just a sideshow to deflect attention)...

And if the reason for wanting to destroy BJ was that BJ was onto some shady dealings...

And if the shady dealings involved Darth helping Halliburton (or somebody else) sell WMD materials to some rogue or terrorist regime...

that could be treason. They're all possible.

I think someone on DU posted that the penalty for treason during wartime can be death. Is this wartime? Since the state of perpetual undeclared war began, who's to say if a time is wartime or not? If it came to that, Darth could argue that it's only wartime in the boy king's imagination when he needs a boost in the polls or in his narcissistic self-image.

123. Do you think that Israel might have been involved in some shady
wmd dealings? I keep thinking that the Cabal was trying to plant wmds in Iraq so to justify going to war. Of course Halliburton or Bechtel could have been helping out with that as well. More than likely Bechtel because they are a VERY PRIVATE firm. Just guessing.

I don't think the US ever 'declared' war on Iraq...same as Vietnam. However, there must be something in the Patriot Act that the Cabal could be charged with...wouldn't that be just tooooo sweeeeeeeeet?

109. When does tomorrow come?
Someday tomorrow's today.

I will join in the celebration for option 3, but I will fling rose petals rather then poo. (And Dude Will, there are better things to pull from your pants. I will tell you when you are older)

I don't usually drink but there is a new imported wine that is named the same as my unusual given name. People see it and buy it for me. I have some chilling.
I will wear a flowing dress, raise my glass and drink to each indictment, then twirl and throw rose petals and sing whatever worthy song comes to mind.

I will do the poo fling for option one, wearing only black and sullenly mutter curses.

My son was asking what Fitzgerald was like, if we could trust him. I started describing what I knew and he laughed and said it sounded like I wanted to marry him.
Well sure, but I would be happy to just carry his briefcase.

I do believe it's truth he is seeking and that he knows how to find it. I do believe the truth in this case will bring indictments. We don't know...the breadth of his investigation.

How much hope to put in the integrity of a lone man!

But if this man is as good as he sounds, well he is already like a comic book hero in his search for truth and justice. Could he ever be a turning point in history, who should play him in the movie?

133. Patience is a virtue, but strike while the iron is hot....
A slow, agonizing, fought-every-step-of-the-way battle will be the best
way to send the Bushite orcs back to their holes for a thousand years or
so, isolating and discrediting themselves and their die-hard supporters
forever.

So if sealed indictments are what it takes, I'm for it. I want everyone
to know about the crimes of 9/11 and the voting machines before this is
over. A period of time for the media to speculate as to where the
investigation is going will also be useful.

But if sealed indictments are going to be a means of deflating our
balloon I'm going to... work all the harder to expose the crimes of the BFEE.
