I was called by an Army recruiter today
For the first time in 12 years. I am 29 years old.

The only way I can think of them getting my phone number (it's a cell phone), is that it was sold to them by my university. I am a graduate student. I keep my phone number unlisted.

After being asked if I "wanted to learn more about the Army", I replied that I know all about the army from all the soldiers that get killed in Iraq every day. Then I said that I was not interested in learning anything more about the army until we got a new commander-in-chief. And then I hung up.

Being a military recruiter is not an honorable profession anymore.

1. I wonder how a freeper might respond to a call like that.

3. That's bullshit. I suppose the university had to give your cell #.
That's messed up. Thanks Congress. Assholes. The Army should not be acting like $&^%$*! telemarketers. They shouldn't be calling people that have not expressed an interest somehow. It's a waste of time anyway. But they probably won't be calling you again.

Not all recruiters are bad people. There are oftentimes forced into that duty. The Army will take highly rated people from other specialties and force them into recruiting, hoping they will do well there also. Quite a few just end up getting out rather than put up with the BS.
