Our White House is Lobbying the Senate to ALLOW TORTURE.
God help us get these bastards out of our government. PLEASE.
One more reason to get Dick Cheney the fuck out of our lives!!!!!

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/25/politics/25detain.html

~snip~ The Senate defied a presidential veto threat nearly three weeks ago and approved, 90 to 9, an amendment to a $440 billion military spending bill that would ban the use of "cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment" of any detainee held by the United States government. This could bar some techniques that the C.I.A. has used in some interrogations overseas.

But in a 45-minute meeting last Thursday, Vice President Dick Cheney and the C.I.A. director, Porter J. Goss, urged Senator John McCain, the Arizona Republican who wrote the amendment, to support an exemption for the agency, arguing that the president needed maximum flexibility in dealing with the global war on terrorism, said two government officials who were briefed on the meeting. They spoke on condition of anonymity because of the confidential nature of the discussions ~snip~

4. Yes.... we need to torture the Iraqis fighting for their homeland since
it will reduce the recruiting powers of Al Qaida and others 10 fold.

5. Where are the cries of "this will inspire attacks on our troops"?
I mean- we shouldn't see the photos of their torture programs because they might put our troops at greater risk, but these can argue publicly for their right to CONTINUE torturing prisoners?

6. Bastards!
And to go to John McCain, of all people! Yes, I know he's been a real flip-flopper where Bush is concerned, but to ask someone who was a POW to back off on his amendment regarding torture is beyond the pale!

These sicko's are so out of it that they would be the very first to howl if/when one of our military people is tortured.

Bastards!
