3. What an awesome example of how one person can change the world.
Or at least be the spark that lights a fire under a movement...

4. For one of America's greatest heros, it's but a small homage, yet laudable
I hope the crowds were appropriately reverent

5. That was the shortest moment of silence
I've ever seen at a sports event.

8. Who's calling for all this World Series propaganda, the White House?
Bush and the republicans who hated and fought against civil rights, certainly don't give a shit...and the nightly 'god Bless America' more propaganda...When did this kind of bullshit start happening at the WS...Does the baseball commissioner get direct orders from the WH?

What kind of shit is slated for tomorrow night...more shit to make us more patriotic and hateful those who oppose BushCo and his wars for profit?

9. Uh. You don't watch much baseball, do you?
They have been singing God Bless America ever since they restarted games about two weeks after 9/11/2001. (The Yankees were doing it best for a while - they had this fantastic Irish Tenor singing it)

And several years before that they made a BIG DEAL about Jackie Robinson. EVERY team was required to honor him and retire his number. The Rosa Parks thing is still in that vein.

10. Agreed, but MLB is a bastion of the flying monkey right ...
Very few Dem players, management or owners.
Case in point, the Cubs ... owned by the wonderfully Republican Tribune Company. I recall Mark Grace (ex-Cubs 1st baseman)making cracks about Hillary when she visited Wrigley Field. :puke:

11. Well, I'm a rabid liberal Dem and I love baseball!
When the players are on the field, they are focused on playing a game, not on espousing any particular political point of view. Just sayin', you know.

14. Doesn't make me love the game any less either ...
Just makes me sad that most of the players are Republican whack-jobs! LOL

15. I just usually leave politics at the gate when I go to a game
It's a nice respite, don't you think? :hi:

I hate the Yankees...but what's the point again...How about "God Bless the World", fuck this mechanical induced patriotism that the republicans use to exploit and abuse!!!
