Republican spinmasters want us to celebrate, they want us to gloat, they want us to call it "Fitzmas," as if indictments were like a shiny new bicycle to a five year old. There is too much of the bounce icon, too many smiles, and too much celebrations - it just isn't the right spirit. It’s then too easy for them to make this a partisan issue.
Yes, there is justice in these filthy "leaders" getting what they deserve. Yes, there is respect in a system that holds these filthy "leaders" accountable for their actions. Yes, there is plenty to resent our filthy “leaders” for.
There is nothing to celebrate, but plenty to be THANKful for.
The thing we ought to celebrate is that we should have a Constitution that allows us reprieve from those who commit the most egregious of crimes on our dimes.
I won't shed a tear for anybody who is indicted, but I sure as hell will be THANKful that when somebody breaks the law, no matter whom they are, there are consequences. I’ll be THANKful that a prosecutor with the gumption, integrity, judiciousness, and savvy was here to GIVE his service in pursuit of truth through indictments. I’ll be THANKful that he was here to GIVE me renewed confidence in America.
I won't be celebrating "Fitzmas," I'll be celebrating “ThanksFitzgiving”!!! He, and the American system deserve our homage more than the Republicans implicated deserve our scorn.
