Golden State- the groping's over ; its on to screwing.

Bend over Cali, honey! Hey, didn't take long. too bad none of us in our most logical construction of the democartic strategy ( vote no: status quo) ever bothered to go to Arnolds website and read his ENERGY POLICY Me Included. It would have given us what we needed to beat him! I am kicking myself! It's all laid out right there for everyone to see:

http://www.joinarnold.com

http://www.joinarnold.com/en/agenda/#C1

"Affirm the commitment to private power by dismantling the California Power Authority (CPA) and transferring to other agencies those functions (if any) determined to support a sustainable energy policy. Its current mission to build and operate publicly owned power plants is in direct competition with private industry and serves only to divert private investment in electricity generation and transmission away from the state.
Pass legislation that expedites prudency rulings on utility power purchase agreements (PPA) and limits the CPUC's ability to review such contracts after the fact.
Create a working wholesale power market based on the lessons learned from other states and the FERC standard market design. California is one of several states that adopted electricity restructuring. However, only California's restructuring caused severe price hikes and energy shortages. It is time to learn from other successful restructurings enacted by Texas, the New England states, and the Mid-Atlantic states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. In addition, California should also look to the standard market design created by FERC. "

what this proposes is nothing less than to eliminate public oversight on future power supply contracts the state signs with energy companies and adopt a design plan for deregulating California’s electricity market from other states that restructured its electricity markets, such as Texas, New Jersey and Maryland.

Schwarzenegger said he will fire dozens of energy advisors appointed by Davis to various posts in favor of his own energy team, one that “respects free-market economics.”

Finally, an aide, speaking about the 9 billion dollar suit against Texas energy companies said , almost in a perverse acknowlegement of Greg Palasts Arnold-Enron column

“It’s time to settle and move on,” a top aide to Schwarzenegger said. “We don’t want to inherit litigation.”

DUDE, WHERE'S MY STATE?

2. Holy crap! You mean that nobody did oppo research that basic????
This is terrifying! Removing all public oversight from power supply contracts is the scariest damn thing I've ever heard. Will the legislature let him get away with it? Will the press?

Yeah, probably.

until too late. Our issues were driven by the anti-union stance of the repugs. We did not realize until last week the public didn't see this as dem vs repug; they saw it as Gov Gray vs the Terminator. For real.

So our thoughtful message played to the converted when the public was clearly looking for a fall guy for all the whipped up frenzy; the rw media made sure it wasn't W.

Damn we can be stupid considering how learned we are.

8. The first days of the campaign Bustamante talked about progressive tax
and energy policy and only Tavis Smiley would report on it.

Perhaps, if you didn't talk about what the media wanted you to talk about, they wouldn't air the tapes. I don't know. But I never heard the progressivism I heard on the opening day of the campaign again.

It was all, Indian casinos and "opuhning dah boooks"

us to give him another chance after this? I mean, I just want to be clear on where we are on this chance thing.

12. well it depends how you define "give"
I think he burned up all his another chances on the sexual assault/groping issue.

BTW I have been contacted by a spouse of a prod. asst. from Arnolds film "End of Days" that has told yet another verifiable tale of trailer sex and sexist commentary. It's going straight to those guys at LAT.

14. I can see what the pay off is for the Bushies but I wonder what Arnold's
end is in all this. Money? Power? all of the above? Wouldn't you love to have a transcript of phone calls and meetings with Rove and the Enron folks. I have long wondered if they talk about pay offs in general or specific terms or if some things are just understood between con men.

I suspect its gotta be power. President. Is he , like W a stalking horse for something else?

Is the Arnold ammendment really so a Soviet can become president? A Chinese?

Paranoia strikes deep.
