It was some report out of London. I've heard it was a whitewash.
The right wing media whores are saying that it proves Dubya and Blair didn't lie, and that Wilson was wrong.

I've written on it before, but can't remember the name of it.

I want to mention it on my show, so your help would be most welcome.

Thanks!

5. I'd say more like misrepresentation of a report that left out information
that would make it a legitimate report.

2. They may be referring to the Hutton Inquiry but I am just guessing
That report was said to be a whitewash when it was released.

7. That's probably the one.
The right wing media whores are referring to it a lot, without mentioning the name of the report.

I guess they don't want their listeners to be able to look it up for themselves.

6. Try Butler report
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 11:49 AM by Emit
I've read conflicting info, though, about whether it really exonerates them, so I agree with your assessment the it is likely a whitewash.

Edited to add:

8. Bingo! That's the one I was thinking of. Butler Report/Hutton Inquiry?
I wonder if the Butler Report is related to, or the same thing as the Hutton Inquiry?

9. The Hutton Inquiry
Edited on Wed Oct-26-05 12:09 PM by Emit
was a British judicial inquiry (lead by Lord Hutton), who was appointed by the British government to investigate the death of a government weapons expert, Dr. David Kelly. The inquiry opened in August 2003 and reported on January 28, 2004.

The Butler report, I think, was later, commencing February 3, 2004 and concluding 14 July 2004.

Not that wikipedia is the best source, but it was the easiest and quickest. BTW, beware of factcheck.org re: the Butler report.

Edited to add that it appears that Blair tried to say that the Butler report was not necessary because the Hutton Inquiry had cleared them of 'wrongdoing' and established their 'good faith.' The Butler report, it appears from what I've read in the past, related more to a study of the pre-war intelligence.

11. No problem. I have been reading a lot of this info lately
trying to do some layman's research into the forged documents, etc. Came across a lot of this stuff that I had saved, so I had it right in front of me, along with some other related stuff.

14. What is also very interesting is that the report in question
ON THE SAME PAGE indicates that there was no link between Iraq and Al Qeda.

Also - in the British White Paper - that we all first saw almost completely blacked out - that they said supported thier case - when the less-blacked out version came out - we found that the administration had REMOVED ALL OF THE QUALIFIERS. So there goes that paper as supporting evidence.
