The $87 Billion dollar giveaway!

I have a funny feeling that some Democrats may vote for this hand out to the Bush crime family for "fixing" Iraq. Will anybody vote for their congressperson or Senator if they vote for this thing?

If they pass this, expect more and more cuts for essential services and I think the U.S. Dollar will be devaluated as a result. The Treasury is already running low on cash.

They don't want to be accused of not supporting the troops...

This is an easy breakdown for Minnesota:

Mark Dayton (D): almost as progressive as Wellstone, will vote against the "Halliburton Handout"

Norm Coleman(R): the guy who "defeated" Mondale, Dick Cheney's lapdog, legendary flip-flopper on ANWR drilling issue, will most assuredly vote FOR this thing, especially if he wants to stay on Unka Dick's Christmas Card List.

I heard it passed the house yesterday-- I wonder what the breakdown was?

Al Sharpton and Dennis Kucinich. DK is leading the fight in the HOUSE AGAINST IT. NO Senators in office and running for President speaking against it. Sick.

Halliburton Handout is right.

Because of his statements about how the pentagon can't have an unlimited budget. I'm all for a strong military, but we have to remember how much money we are spending here.

Shouldn't we make sure they get the money they need?

to provide for the Army in Iraq. Everyone keeps hollering about how they need the money. Some repug House member said that they didn't have the vests they needed.(True.) Another Congressman said this money had already been voted on, with no restrictions as to how it was to be spent. So half of these vests could already be there, but the Army wants to buy cold war weapons systems instead, and then hit up the taxpayers for additional money to "support the troops."

The profit that Halliburton is making on their no-bid contracts is OUTRAGEOUS, and this profit doesn't support the troops.
Way over half this bill regarding the troops is PORK.

And way over half the "Iraq reconstruction" in this bill is PORK.

And of the rest, 5 billion $$ will go to train Iraqi police officers at a cost of $240,000 per trainee.

We could PAY the cost of UN troops AND Iraqis and others reconstructing Iraq and training police officers for lest than $20 BILLION for the period and GET OUR TROOPS OUT as major players.

But arrogant Bush still hopes for oil spoils and Halliburton, Bechtel, Dyncorp and many other porkers are eating at the trough.

And now they want $87 billion more ($66 billion for the troops). That would total about $166 billion dollars. There are approximately 130 thousand troops in Iraq. Do you have any idea what that averages out per troop? Per each individual GI? It is mind boggling.

and who gave the surplus to his rich friends,let them pay,the bush crooks are going to destroy this country.WAKE UP AMERICA.

I also don't trust another $87 billion in the Bush administration's hands. It's really a tough call.
