No Indictments? Anyone else beginning to think...
that they'll all get away with this... and that there won't be any indictments at all?

Not trying to send negative vibes or anything - but sheesh... what is taking so long?

4. Doing a thorough job?
Not being sarcastic, but from what I hear about Fitz, he is a very detail-oriented person, and wants the t's crossed and the i's dotted. And even though the wait is sometimes hard, I would rather he be thorough and methodical instead of fast to the point where things would fall through the cracks.

5. I had forgotten how jumpy DU can be.
Everyone should just go to bed tonight, get up, go to work tomorrow, don't worry.

They will happen or they won't. Either way, things are for shit for bush et al. With indictments, they are in huge shit. Without indictments they are still in the shit. I mean, hell, things aren't exactly going well for any of them regardless. And it's ONLY 2005!

6. Your intuition is failing you today.
Even a gut feeling is more reliable than the right-wing propaganda you must be listening to.

Fitzgerald is probably giving the Whitehouse time to prepare. They are suppose to be commanding the country and it would be the proper thing to do.

7. I find myself starting to think this way too, so I think it is
overkill. The pressure of wanting the truth to come out so badly and fearing that it will not.

Time to watch a silly movie or read a book or make a scrapbook or something to take our minds off of Plamegate/Treasongate mess for awhile.

8. I have a bet with Walt Starr
If a) there are no indictments OR b) the only indictments are for Libby for perjury and obstruction, then Walt Starr will use the following signature line for 30 days:

"I was Punk'd by alcibiades_mystery."

If, on the other hand, there are any more indictments than that, I will use the following signature line for 30 days:

"I was Punk'd by Walt Starr."

ODDS?

My guess, which is no better than anybody else's, is 80/20 against indictments other than obstruction of justice or perjury.

I remain confident.

The Grand Jury has yet to be dismissed.

And should the Grand Jury be dismissed with no indictments announced, I will change my sig, but if the announcements come next week, I will expect you to alter your sig line for one additional day for each day mine is altered erroneously.

Remember, there could already be sealed indictments which won't be revealed for potentially weeks. The fact that sealed indictments have been issued woud not be known for days.

116. I don't agree to that
We said one month (30 days), period.

That said, we could work it out as follows: Nobody changes their sig until an official announcement is made.

And remember, the second condition was ONLY Libby getting indicted on ONLY perjury and obstruction. Should he only be indicted on one of these two, that would mean an alcibiades_victory and Walt Starr punking as well. Don't worry. I'll be gentle.

I agree, we wait until there is an announcement. If the Grand Jury closes up shop and Fitzgerald closes up shop, then I'll accept that in lieu of an announcement.

False statements is a lesser charge than perjury, and I was of course mistaken on the counts but not on the charges.

56. You are talking out both sides of your mouth.
You are saying there wasn't any crime committed.
I am saying there was.
What was done was a crime.
I never named a perpetrator of the crime, only presented the fact that a crime of outing a CIA agent was committed.
You inserted your own thoughts in that.
SOMEBODY did it.
SO the vague "they" would certainly suffice as an unknown criminal.
Until I actually say a NAME...then "they" certainly did out a CIA agent is a correct statement as well.:)
Of course the question of will you be able to handle it if "they" are convicted should certainly be asked.:eyes:

36. That's what we're waiting for...
the indictments. And they will come, I have no doubt about that.

What they did WAS illegal, and I have a feeling that both Fitz and the Grand Jury agree.

George Herbert Walker Bush, Shrub's father, called outing a CIA agent an act of treason and also said it was despicable.

It's a crime all right. Question is, who can Fitz prove it against? Libby? Rove? Cheney?

Cheney is under the microscope right now...part of the delay, I think. Libby may have dropped the dime on him.

BTW--welcome to DU!

47. WAKE UP!
there is no doubt that illegal activity took place. there is no way to explain it away, period. they might get away with it, that is another story.

we already know that bush lied when he said he didn't know who leaked Plame's identity.

we already know that cheney lied when he said he didn't know who Joe Wilson was.

we already know that rove and libby released Plame's identity to people in the media.

we already know that bush lied in his 2003 state of the union address.

where have you been?

Some people on here can argue like adults, some can't.

FWIW, "trolling" usually means the following:

* deliberately provoking arguments on newsgroups or bulletin boards, with no other intent than to gain attention for the sake of attention. Originally: fishing by dragging a line fitted with one or more hooks behind the boat.

welcome to DU CoolRam

Nobody here knows. Most of us strongly believe they did something illegal, based on their past MO of character assassination and the President's pattern of lies that started a war.

To suggest that "maybe they didn't do anything illegal" is silly. They've done plenty of illegal things already. I can live with it if they don't get nailed on this particular one, because somewhere down the road they will get nailed on the rest.

he starts a press conference bushco* is gonna do SOMETHING to steal the newscycle. So he just goes along and they* keep throwing out their distractions and sooner or later they will be either out of ideas or slip up and Fitzgerald will announce.

I know it'll be gutwrenching but I kinda hope he announces he is delaying any idictments becuase the investigtion has taken some "serious turns" and he is extending the inquiry for an indefinite period but not longer than another year, at the very latest he will make his investigation public the Tuesday before 2006 election day! Imagine how the bush* crime family will fumble along with this hanging over their heads for ANOTHER YEAR!

Either that or he comes out and insists on 2 counts of treason for every bush* admin member.

111. Gee Wally, can't a fella just hang out, and kinda
kick the threads that help us advance the root canal that the administration is getting, even if it makes it grittier and less pain-free?

Doing great, feeling good about the wheels of justice and the power of those of us with the title of "citizen" to have a government of us, by us, and for us.

And you know, I was wondering as I've combed through all the freshest news about the SP, waiting for indictments and wondering how far Fitzgerald will go now that he's spent two years going up the river of crimes: What are they hiding?

My answer: not much anymore, now that everyone is waking up to the fact that the emperor is naked, and hey, this was illegal, and that was illegal, and so on, for a long time.

We're going to need to share a cyber-beer in the next few days, bro.

133. Be glad that Fitzgerald is precise in his decisions and moves.
If you read some of the rumors, Rove has been 'negotiating' since yesterday or the day before. Every move has to go through his lawyers and others. Try to imagine what it is like when real justice is in progress. Good lawyers try not to get tripped up with legal technicalities which can cause a case to be thrown out.
