What’s up with Treasongate?
Is it yesterday’s news, * said the traitor can’t be identified so the “liberal” media dropped it? Bush the honorable, the first “decent” President since Reagan isn’t worried that there is a genuine criminal in his employ.

Don’t you just hate the way the media dogs the guy until he becomes accountable?

5. There's one easy answer
Have the reporters who claim to know who the leaker is come forward.

14. But then...
...every "off the record" source would dry up. No more inside info on anything. No one would talk for fear of being named.

2. It IS incredible how quickly the entire country turns
to something else. The National Attention Span of a Self-Lobotomized Muskrat. Even at DU . . .

But TacticalPeak and some others are still on the case:

3. the TV media hates this story
Even when they cover it, there's an air of reluctance. Much different from their irrepressable enthusiasm during Monicagate.

But really, why should anyone care about American intelligence officials getting killed ? There's a war on, you know.

6. Did everyone here hear that Kobe’s victim
was a sexually active young woman? Now there’s news! A woman who is not a virgin CLAIMS TO HAVE BEEN RAPED! Man who cares if there are traitors in the White House when there are young women who don’t plan their rapes well enough to abstain from sex for a few days before?

7. I think it will continue to develop and won't go away.
The ball is in the DOJ's court for now, but the CIA will not be satisfied if Ashcroft tries to make it go away. The CIA made a decision not to let Whistle Ass and the media ignore this. When the CIA originally made the request for a criminal investigation, that was only the first step. When the CIA decided to leak that request, that was the second step. More information will be coming. Either officially from the DOJ or leaked by the CIA or DOJ career people.

11. Yeah
Bush pissed off the CIA when he blamed his lies about Iraq on them and forced Tenet to fall on his sword for him. That organization is VERY methodical and they have about as much emotion in pursuing their goals as a dead fish. Bush is going to learn the hard way WHY he is the first POTUS to piss off the CIA and why he shouldn't have done that. I doubt that they will knock him off, but I would not be surprised if they leak something in the last week of September, 2004 as a little "October Surprise".

15. Agreed. The CIA never would have gone public unless it wanted
there to be serious consequences.

9. Write your congresspeople! Write your media outlets!
Don't just sit here and complain (but do that too I guess, I sure am).

Express your outrage every damn day to those who can do something about it!

13. Call the TOLL FREE Capitol Hill Switchboard 1 (800) 839 - 5276
FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING!!! They'll transfer you to ANYBODY'S office in the House or Senate.

DEMAND A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR. Obviously it's up to us to help keep this story alive!!!

ALSO, go to Take Back the Media for media phone numbers and email addresses. They need to be pressured, too.

DO IT!!! WE have to take back our country. They won't just hand it back to us like good little boys and girls. We HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK, OURSELVES!

12. There are two threads on DU's GD first page
Two different articles are offered. One from the Wash Post and another from a different outlet. So, it's not a dead issue - just simmering.
