"It is not a crime to be a conservative" ?
I just overheard something (television on in another room) that sounded like a political ad or somesuch.

I'm not sure if it was part of a CNN program or if it was a real advertisement, but it said something about how it was not a crime to be a (Republican? Conservative?)...

Did anyone else hear this? What was it?

1. They are desperately trying to sell that idea,
because most people now think that it is a crime to be a conservative, or at least that most conservatives are criminals.

5. If true, it is HILARIOUS!
All it does is strengthen the notion that the current "conservatives" ARE criminals!

Can someone enlighten me?

24. Good point.
He said the ads were intended to educate the public, not to influence a potential jury for a trial.

Ahem.

16. Same as it ever was: "I am not a crook"
<insert Animal-House-style "bullshit" cough sound effect here>

Poor little persecuted majority. Got the government and the corporations, but still can't be seen as anything but the criminals they are...

17. What a stupid thing to say.
Imagine how it would sound to say, "It's not a crime to be a Democrat."

Does that sound like a "ringing endorsement" for the Democratic Party? Well, it's not against the law, so I'd better join...

The obvious rejoinders are legion...

It's not a crime to be a conservative...but...
...criminals are certainly welcome...
...it certainly helps to get away with crime...
...it ought to be...
...but it sure helps...

Whatta buncha dumbasses.

Is prostitution illegal in D.C.? It's probably not a felony though.
