Exxon Mobil 3Q Profit Balloons to $9.92B

Exxon Mobil Corp. had a quarter for the record books. The world's largest publicly traded oil company said Thursday high oil and natural-gas prices helped its third-quarter profit surge almost 75 percent to $9.92 billion, the largest quarterly profit for a U.S. company ever, and it was the first to ring up more than $100 billion in quarterly sales.

3. The government is COMPLETELY silent about this.
No outrage, no talk of "windfall taxes". no nothing. It's as if this is all perfectly normal. The population seems to be silent about it to for that matter.

4. Hastert asked the oil companies to spend their
profits on building new refineries. Asshat. He should have asked them to reduce oil prices to where they are selling at a 5 billion dollar loss over the next quarter, and that the congress would do a REAL investigation of their slimy practices.
