Slow dancing with the death of America.
They held her gently as they sucked the life from her veins. The wealthy increased their power slowly as they stripped it from her.

It was slow. Slow as a sunset. The profits rose as their costs diminished. That which made them great shuffled to the beat.

Until finally, the sucking machine let her drop to the ground and looked around. There was no one there.

So the music ended. It was a waltz. There was silence.

Then they heard the Santur blowing from far away.

And they left for the sands of a land far away. The dance was over with America.

The kudzu grows wild and the ants feast.

4. Two hundred ninety-seven million impoverished "campesinos"...
a couple of hundred thousand incredibly wealthy "patrons" ... welcome to the future United States of Nueva Guatemala del Norte .... don't say you weren't warned. On the plus side, there should be some really great religious processions as the ignorant peasants flock to Holy Mother Church, praying for forgiveness for whatever it was that laid them so low. And the beat goes on...

7. Thanks...you're much too kind
it's like Ogden Nash paying tribute to John Keats. Your imagery blows me away, sincerely.
