What if we don't get what we want for Fitzmas?
Rumors this morning are all over the map. I personally don't believe in celebrating before the fact and I am on edge about this.

I personally want to see Bush, Cheney, Rove, Libby and all their evil little neocon elves frogmarched out of the White House and into a paddy wagon.

That probably won't happen.

Cheney will probably walk, Rove may well walk. Libby may become the official fall guy--or he may walk too. This administration has a way of landing on its feet.

Let's look at the positive side.

Fitzgerald has done something no one else has done. He's made these guys sweat. That is a great accomplishment.

A spotlight has been shown on how this administration took us to war and it is not a pretty sight. New information is coming out daily. That is a great accomplishment.

I'll personally be satisfied if only Libby gets indicted and the probe continues. The last time a high White House official was indicted was during the Grant administration. The principle that no one is above the law is maintained. That is a great accomplishment.

I'll be thrilled if the investigation continues. Who knows what or who it will touch? Let Rover and Cheney and Bush continue to twist in the wind and knife each other in the back. Let's learn it all.

OK Fitz. I'm ready.

2. This is a process.
Everything doesn't happen at once. It takes time. As a wonderful Irish-American poet wrote: "Go real slow, you'll like it more and more ... take it as it comes."

3. if nothing else, the fact that in their panic, they've tipped their hand..
they've admitted wrongdoing by attempting to minimalize its importance, and they've admitted to targeting and smearing anyone who disagrees with them.
WE've always known that, but now joe six pack knows it, too. And that means, NEXT TIME they try this crap, it ain't gonna work.

4. I think something will happen
I had a dream last night where it was my job to take care of two severed human heads-and I'll let you guess whose faces they had....

Dreaming aside, I think there has been too much buildup/anticipation in the MSM for this to just go away quietly. I expect indictments for Rove and Libby at least.

5. It looks like Libby today, Rove later.
That gives us two bursts of WH indictment news instead of one. Patience, people.
