Does this mean that Rove is making a deal?
So, if Rove is not indicted, how likely is it that he made a deal with Fitz? That seems like it would be just as good as an indictment because he would likely become persona non grata!

2. Definitely a possibility
Rove clearly cut some deal to avoid the lying to a Grand Jury charge ..and I would not put it past Rove to turn into Sammy the Bull Gravano and just throw everyone in the VP's office under the bus

3. Rove and deal
I bet Fitzgerald wants to build a stronger case against Rove. If Rove did a deal, then that means that Bush has turned on Cheney.

I suspect that that's the reason why Bush and the WH are acting so strangely and incompetently lately. Bush on his own is a disaster waiting to happen. Cheney was pulling his strings.

Of course, the crazee rightwing will still support and trust Bush because their brains are locked into authoritative whitemale worship and they cannot think for themselves.

5. I think that's a definite "He's trying to"
And it seems to be something of a tug of war. Fitz' showed up at Rove's lawyers office and it was reported Rove's team turned down the offer.

Considering the impact of a Rove indictment on the pResidency I think Fitzgerald had a lot of leverage. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a number of phone calls last night.
