LOL! I can't find bush's speech on ANY channel on cable right now.
CNN just cut him off with Wolfie saying "The President, repeating a lot of the things he has been saying..."

OMG. THAT is freaking hilarious.

He's not speaking on any channel I have. None of the major networks, none of the 24/7 news networks, including C-SPAN and others.

They're ALL talking about Fitzgerald.

2. It got even better...Jeff Greenberg tied speech to Plame outing!
This is PRICELESS! PERFECT!

Greenberg said it was "disappointing" that he was speaking in such broad terms about the war on terra, because that's what got us into this CIA leak case mess in the first place.

WHOA! Woo-hoo!

4. So much for bringing out the "Big Guns" for a distration
I saw some fear in Bush's eyes during the "we weren't in Iraq on 9/11" applause pause. It was cool.

6. "we weren't in Iraq on 9/11?"
What the hell does THAT even mean?

Nevermind, if bush said it, it's either some twisted lie or some weird shit that doesn't even make any sense.

I think the cocaine has eaten holes in his brain.

13. Every terra speech has the same bit - Condi says it a lot to:
"for those who say our presence in Iraq has created terra, I say, remember, we weren't in Iraq on 9/11".

Blah, blah, blah.

There also wasn't a HUGE terror network and an entire country to be used as a training ground either. The idiot. But I like the fear in his eyes - check the replay if you can stomach it.

9. It was a horrible speech..
.. with * going on and on about the forces of evil and calling them various names including Islamofascism. Gawd!

It was clearly a scripted speech in front of a fixed audience... and it still came off as immature and out of touch.

21. And from what little I saw of it (several minutes)
I didn't hear a lot of applause or anything. Usually when a crowd is semi-fired up, they applaud at the bits that get them hot and bothered.

He was drowning in flop sweat.

as they did. He never said anything new. It was the same speech over and over.

8. I didn't even see a full minute of it before it was cut off.
I never caught it when they had it on MSNBC (for even less time than CNN).

26. That's possible.
Or watching him drown in flop sweat.

Any other hecklers that pop up, they'll get out just as quickly.

But it all boils down to--he's not saying anything new (shock!). Same old same old same old shit. Always.

28. You know, it's interesting.
I'm not psychic, but I saw this coming years ago.

Back when they were all hot and heavy fearmongering to get us into this nasty war, I thought to myself "he's going to be the boy who cries wolf one time too many and one day people will blatantly laugh in all the neocon faces."

You know what the REALLY sad thing is? Security IS a serious issue. But they go about it all wrong and end up making us LESS safe and their rhetoric is SO bad that they have bloviated themselves into irrelevancy.

Fear is EXHAUSTING. No one can keep up the level of fear the neocons need them to over a long-term period. Even my friends who were the MOST scared of WMDs a couple of years ago can't be bothered to even discuss this topic anymore. It's a big snoozer for them. It's not that they think terrorism can never happen here again, it's just that they're fucking emotionally worn out from going on that Roller Coaster of Fear with bush et al AND they see the fuck up the war in Iraq is and they ARE slightly resentful about that. I mean, they supported it.
