Libby: False statements and obstruction of Justice! (cube rat edition)
Edited on Fri Oct-28-05 12:11 PM by ticapnews
Five counts against Libby: Obstruction, False statements, perjury.

For the cube rats: I'll keep updating this thread as MSNBC reports....

Libby lied "several times" and committed perjury March 5 and March 24 and later obstructed justice. Plame's status was classified and was not known outside the intelligence community.

Part of the reason Libby is being indicted is for an interview with Russert! He claimed on MTP that people knew Plame was an agent, which was a lie.

Libby confirmed to Cooper that Plame worked for the CIA.

He told Miller "Wilson's wife might" work for the CIA.

Rove's indictment is still pending.

Brian Williams now asking Russert what his role was in frnt of Grand Jury. Russert testified August 7. Russert was not leaked the information. Libby called NBC in July 2003 to complain about something they had aired, not to give Russert any info.

Russert didn't learn about Plame's ID until reading Novak's column.

Libby was told by Cheney that Plame worked at the CIA.

Karl Rove has been advised that he remains under investigation. Charges can still be filed against him.

Dan Abrams and Tweety now: Tweety asking if Fitzgerald will try to flip Libby to go after Cheney... Abrams doesn't think so. "The Vice President is in no legal jeopardy" But he lied on MTP, which is a "political question"

Bob Kur at the White House: No public reaction yet. No resignation yet.

Anyone still reading, or am I writing to myself?

MSNBC: LIBBY HAS RESIGNED!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheney heading to Hangar 82 at Robbins AFB. Surroundng himself with troops...he will not take any questions or talk to reporters...

1. Couldn't happen to a better person unless of course it could
have been Rove, Cheney and Bush. But we're patient DUers, aren't we?

3. Historian Beschloss: First time since US Grant
Bush will try to save his second term like Reagan did after Iran-Contra.

Babcock, Grant's man who was indicted stayed on in the White House, was acquitted then resigned... "That isn't going to happen in this case"
