Any trial would shine a spotlight on the secret deliberations of Bush team
why the hell not!! that fat ass rove appears to be getting off. someone please explain to me how this could happen, payoff or what? yeah, they say he is still under investigation, BULLSHIT!! Fitz had plenty of time to investigate. shrub and cheney should also be indicted, no one is going to tell me they weren't involved from the start. everybody knows why they wanted Wilson and his wife, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. i'm sorry, but but these non indictments ruined my weekend.

Rove Not Expected to Be Indicted Today

Some lawyers have raised the specter of broader conspiracy charges. Any trial would shine a spotlight on the secret deliberations of Bush and his team as they built the case for war against Iraq.

Bush ordered U.S. troops to war in March 2003, saying Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction program posed a grave and immediate threat to the United States. No such weapons were found. The U.S. military death toll climbed past 2,000 this week.

The Democratic National Committee didn't wait for indictments to pounce on Bush, urging him to delay his weekend trip to the presidential retreat at Camp David, Md., and confront the case.

Fitzgerald and his investigators have been trying to determine whether Rove, Libby or any other administration officials knowingly revealed the identity of CIA agent Valerie Plame or lied about their involvement to investigators. Her husband is diplomat Joseph Wilson, an opponent of the Iraq war who challenged Bush's assertion that Saddam was trying to secure nuclear materials.

1. Actually, an ongoing investigation insures
Rove will have to 'play nice'-or else. If he'd been indicted now, the spin/smear/dirty tricks machine would be in high gear. Rove doesn't dare do that now, for fear that Fitzgerald will come down on him hard with indictments.

3. Rove Has Not Gotten Off
He just hasn't been indicted yet. He might have cut a deal. Fitzgerald might not be able to prove Rove lied under oath yet. Apparently Fitzgerald is not ready to prosecute the leak as a crime at this point -- otherwise Libby would have been charged with that crime.

The investigation is continuing. We haven't seen the end of this yet.
