Where's the tie-in to the WAR!!!
Sounds to me Fitz will focus only on the leak and not tie it in to the Iraq War lies.

So Scooter goes down,.,, so what?

Our goal is to bring down Bush and his whole admin.

Who/WHat/How is going to make the TIE-IN and prosecute Bush for the lies??

1. Wait for the trial
The prosecution have to make a case that explains WHY Libby felt the need to out Plame. It is directly related to the yellowcake story, which is directly related to the SOTU address. which is directly related to the whole conspiracy of lies to lead us into war.

3. Perhaps that is an issue
for the next Grand Jury to tackle. Right now I'll take Libby's head on a platter, we'll go for the kill-shot next time!

6. Not enough for me....
To be honest with you , the only reason I care about the CIA leak is becuase it might lead to the country finding out unequivocally that BUSH LIED and should be impeached for killing our men.

4. The hope is that as the investigation on Rove continues,
more details about the lies that led us to war, will start to be disclosed. I got the feeling from Fitzgerald that he's well aware of the implications and how this connects to Iraq but they cannot move forward on any action until they have all of the facts in line. Remember, we are dealing with experts here and they want to be sure.

Also, the Democrats are not going to let this slide by. Reid just made a statement demanding an explanation from the White House about why we went to war.

It's disappointing in a way, since we wanted this to be the day they all went down (and got sent to GITMO) but this is the first of many more events to come.

9. By the time that happens.. Bushs term will be over.
Plus, Bush didn't answer John Conyers letter yet... What makes you think he will respond to Reid?

10. I see that too:
"I got the feeling from Fitzgerald that he's well aware of the implications and how this connects to Iraq but they cannot move forward on any action until they have all of the facts in line."

- And what's more, he's certainly not going to discuss the issue... yet.

20. Harry Reid's statement was posted at the top of this forum for a while.
It might still be. He tied it into war quite nicely and he did it this morning.

I am sure he knows this why was about propping up the lies that led us to war.

Bush is invading countries, and cuasing a helluva lot of havoc.

We don't have 2- 3 years for all this shit to come out!

14. It's the baseball game.
He's just focused on the pitcher. And he has only got half the truth on that part alone.

Beside, it's implicit. Everyone knows.

17. There is no tie in to the war - Fitzgerald was very clear
Folks following this case in order to resolve feelings about war will be disappointed.

18. Just keep pulling that thread
Trust me, we're going to hear LOTS about the phoney intel in the runup to the war now.

It's going to be all Plame, all the time now. A slender ("willowy" was the word I saw today) white woman whose life has been ruined by "the most insidious of traitors"... isn't that a story just MADE for the corporate media?

They're feeling a wee bit guilty now for how they whored themselves out to support the war. Yeah, they're still corporate-owned - but I think it's going to be hard for them to ignore the biggest criminal case in US history, and how it ties in with the war (which by the way, is ALSO still going on).

It's going to be ugly -- but they're going to have to cover it. Bread and circuses will not do when the White House is being investigated for treason during wartime -- and that wartime is still happening, sending home dead soldiers every day. It's one thing to fight the fight when you know it's for a good cause -- but the President himself has ADMITTED he's basically fighting a grudge match. So what if they keep refusing to show the body bags on TV. This treason case is going to drag on and on while the Iraq war drags on and on and people are going to get so fucking pissed at Bush and the neocons for getting us into this mess.

Wars always end, and as we know, Bush's war on Iraq was doomed to end in failure. If there's a trial ongoing in the US about a beautiful slim white woman whose career was ended by a bunch of slimy war-profiteers while the war slowly fizzles into failure -- trust me, this story will eventually be on the cover of every magazine in the country in one form or another. The media's whorishness cuts both ways -- they can write about shock and awe, but they can also write about poor so-and-so who lost a loved on in a meaningless faraway battle.

So right wingers: Go ahead and have a ball sliming Wilson for the next week or two. Go ahead and say he eats babies for lunch. Jump up and down and throw another one of your ridiculous temper-tantrums.

Go ahead and ruin a woman's career and then tell us you're the pro-family party. Go ahead and out a spy during wartime and tell us you're strong on defense. Go ahead and trash the CIA and ignore their intel and let us get attacked.

People are waking up and if it's just 100,000 so aar on DU, it's half a million a week on Dkos and the trend is ever larger. Just one website (Dkos) has more traffic now than ALL the conservative websites combined. The right wing is dying and they know it. They have nothing left to offer us but corruption and finger-pointing and lies. Eventually, the media is going to make THAT the story. The idiot neocons can't fight a war and they can't mop up after a hurricane and they can't even put food on our tables or get us an affordable doctor. The right wing has been a TOTAL FAILURE and a FRAUD and every day more and more Americans are seeing through their lies.

More grand juries, testimony, investigation into phony intel -- and during this drip drip drip, more and more of our soldiers coming home dead or maimed. More broken families. All for Bush's pathetic fucking bruised delicate ego and some foul-mouthed billionaire gun-running cyborg with a pacemaker. This is the classic story of so many movies -- the snarling villians with their nefarious high-tech schemes against the normal people -- you can bet after a while even Hollywood (or the internet version thereof) will be ALL OVER THIS.

We on DU aren't crazy and we aren't geniuses -- we're just ordinary Americans who had the good luck to stumble upon these internets and find out what the hell was really going on in our country. And every day, more and more people are joining us. All the dirty details about the lead-up to the war are going to come out now. Scooter is just the beginning.

19. Patience, patience! As Fitz was saying, he couldn't dig any deeper at
moment because Libby was lying about everything except his age in order to obfuscate the investigation. With Libby dealing to keep his fines and sentence short, I suspect we'll be seeing deeper analysis and proof that all of this was done to try and discredit the one man who tried to debunk the fraudulent causus belli.
