And attorney-client privilege is there to protect the client. If the client wants something spun, the lawyer can spin it.
In this case the lawyer is an extension of the witness. If the witness called up Judy Miller instead and blabbed, that would also be perfectly legal in the American justice system.
he said the grand jury, the prosecuter and the investigators/officials involved in the grand jury can not speak, anyone else can. But I would imagine the "client" would have to give their lawyer permission to disclose.
