David Gergen on Lou Dobbs
just said the Rove's attorney told him (Gergen) that Fitzgerald was considering indicting Rove until "the last minute" (last night, I think he said), when Rove gave Fitzgerald fresh information, and now Fitzgerald is deciding what to do with it.

Anyone else hear this?

3. When I heard
that Rove's lawyer had met with Fitz in the past couple of days, I was afraid something was happening, like a plea bargain for asshat Rove.

10. If this info really nails someone Fitz is after
such as Cheney, Fitz will accept a plea from Rove (or not indict him at all). That's fine with me.

6. well, that's just a coward's typical MO
to close his eyes and hope real hard that he won't get caught. Then, when reality and punishment are impossible to escape, cry like a baby.

The good thing about Rove not being (even temporarily) in the clear until late last night or, officially, this morning is that his name was in the headlines until the very last minute, and now that everybody's going to be watching the news tonight, the reporters are having to emphasize that he's not out of trouble yet. If he'd made a deal with Fitz earlier, his being out of trouble would be old news and they wouldn't be talking about it today.

8. Imagine Rove going to the White House everyday and his peers
know he sold somebody out. Just beautiful. And exactly what Fitz wants. Go back to the White House and bring me fresh corroborated evidence. This is really a bad day for this White House and I could not be happier!

11. I couldn't find anything at WP
but Gergen will be on MSNBC's Hardball at 7:30 p.m. EST, CNN's Larry King Live, 9 p.m. EST and CNN's Newsnight with Aaron Brown, 10 p.m. EST.

Maybe he'll repeat what he said on Lou Dobbs, and maybe even go into more detail.
