Fitz's visit to Bush's lawyer occurred on Friday morning -- thus prior
Edited on Sun Oct-30-05 01:40 AM by Bumblebee
to the Grand Jury deliberations and his press conference. It had to have something to do with Rove, and, given how "relaxed" the WH appears to some right now, it was probably some kind of a signed and sworn statement by Bush himself which comes close to exonerating Rove. Just a hunch... He was probably told on Tuesday that it was forthcoming. Desperation times require big guns. The indictment would be so devastating to Bush that they had to use him in some kind of a fashion.

1. Fitz isn't their errand boy.
Why would he have to go get something the administration wanted him to have.

They would deliver it to him, not the other way around.

2. I think Fitzgerald was telling Sharp that he needs to talk to Bush.
Under oath, this time.

13. Hope you are right -- the timing was sort of weird, BEFORE
the GJ last session. Also it does not mean that he did -- or will -- drop the charges, only that B & Co may have tried hard to persuade him. As I said in a different thread, I actually think there may be a sealed indictment against R which was filed on Friday -- but all obviously speculation. It's just that it was such an odd visit if he was indeed visiting B's lawyer.

15. Maybe it was, "Rove's not indicted yet, but...
you might not want to celebrate yet and call me when you got some time for a chat."

4. These people are NOT relaxed. That's the RNC spin machine talking.
Go back and watch the video of B*sh's reaction to Libby's indictment. He was nerved up, big time

16. Good point, it's good not to fall for the White House PR tactics.
These people have spin control down to a science, but every time I begin to think they have everything under their complete control, I remind myself that they weren't even competent enough to plant WMDs in Iraq.

Rove is much over rated.

5. He wouldn't talk to Bush's lawyer.......he would talk to Rove's.......
something else would have to be in the works.

7. Why do you say that it was a statement exonerating Rove?
And what do you think it might say if it did?

8. Just a guess -- because it was intended to give F. a pause -- and use B's
status to do it. I am not saying it did exonerate R. or was accurate but they were desperate enough to try anything.

10. i seriously doubt...
...that Fitz would drop any potential charges against Rove because he got a note from his mummy.

And what would it say?

Dear Fitz,

Karl did nothing. Leave him alone you big bully.

Dubya.

PS, Where's the can?

Bush is in Terrible Troubles....

Instead of turning Covt to Speaker Hasert...He clings to the Helm as his ship rocks on the REEF.

6. He didn't drop charges. The investigation is still ongoing. Fitz just
recently leased a bigger DC office for 2 years. There's going to be another investigation and another grand jury.

However, if he DID get a sworn and signed statement by Bush, he can use it against Bush when the truth comes out.

I think that would be a very brilliant move. All he needed to do was indict one person to keep the investigation going. He did that, with charges that can't be disputed. I mean, you can't dispute perjury.

14. I did not say it was -- only that they may have tried to use their biggest
guns to stop it. I did not say they would be necessarily successful :)
