I just finished a Zogby poll on the West Wing.
Part of it was to imagine that the characters were real in a real White House. There were questions on President Bartlett and if we thought he was a great President. The only thing missing was a space to write in that President Bartlett is the President we wish we had.

There were questions on whether we should have another Democratic President or if we should have Republicans take over all branches of government, like it is now. Again there wasn't a place to write an opinion. I would like to see the latter but if only they show how they got there and how they manipulate power through lies and cronyism.

They did give us a taste of it last week when Vinick was caught in a lie.

1. NBC will probably use the findings in the live debate episode
which is coming up.

2. Yes, one of the questions was if I was going to watch that
episode. They indicated that they would send us a poll after it, asking us what we thought.

3. A question: What's a 'Zogby poll'?

Sign up if you want to be polled. They email you every now and then. You don't have to do it over the phone.

5. I liked how they asked if there was a liberal bias in the media
and then asked if there was a liberal bias in the show. Of course there's a liberal bias in the show, but I still think they do a decent job providing legitimate conservative foils in the plot.

I'm still not convinced that Santos wins. Most people point to that first scene in the season opener, because Josh said the president was had arrived. If Santos wins, Josh would not be an advance man for President Santos, he would be Chief of Staff or something similar. It is just as possible in that scene that Josh was simply standing outside, saw the limos pull up and went in to tell Bartlet that President Vinick was there.

I'm looking forward to seeing the campaign move forward. A good preview for how my life's going to be in 2007-8 ;)

7. Yes, the President, but which President?
That was quite a teaser. If Alda wins though, he can't be Bush because he has already shown himself to be smart and knowledgeable. I don't know why, but the Vinick character is beginning to remind me of Lyndon Johnson, who was a Democrat.

6. Interesting poll
usually they just ask about the Oregon (I guess for Oregonians) election for Gov in 2006.
I had a hard time deciding whether I was talking about Vinick and Santos or Alda and Smits. I'd vote for Alda in a minute. But Vinick??? I'm not sure.

8. I said the same thing,
no on the Vinick character, but yes on Alda in real life. I have done polls on Ahnold too, (I made it very clear, I can't stand him) so the State stuff is specific. I saw the results of the poll taken in September putting Ahnold up against his would be contenders and Ahnold can't get up over 40% no matter who runs up against him. If he wins again, then I really will know our voting is compromised.
