Did Reid pick the best three dems to look into the report ?
Do you think we have our best mercilessly brutal democrats in there for that six person group ?

I know Rockefeller and Levin are. Is Feinstein aggressive enough ?

1. The people going into this are there for a reason. Yes,
Reid and the Dems put the most capable people at their disposal. I trust they all have their strengths that will ask the tough and correct questions.

2. Feinstein is one of the Dems looking into this? Isn't her
husband one of the people raking in big bucks off this war as a defense contractor?

9. Blum
Army contract for Feinstein's husband
Blum is a director of firm that will get up to $600 million

David R. Baker, Chronicle Staff Writer

Tuesday, April 22, 2003

URS Corp., a San Francisco planning and engineering firm partially owned by CaliforniaSen. Dianne Feinstein's husband, landed an Army contract Monday worth up to $600million.

The award to help with troop mobilization, weapons systems training and anti-terrorism efforts is the latest in a string of plum defense jobs snared by URS. In February, the firm won an army engineering and logistics contract that could bring in $3.1 billion during the next eight years.

Government contracting has come under increasing scrutiny by Congress and citizen groups, with critics decrying the political connections of firms winning lucrative jobs. Richard Blum, Feinstein's husband, serves on the company's board of directors and controls about 24 percent of the firm's stock,

according to Hoover's Inc. research firm.

A Feinstein spokesman Monday declined to comment on the contract.

10. I definitely don't think she should be on there now.
This will give them a perfect opportunity to claim one of our foremost complaining senators' own husband is profiting from the war.

Not good at all. Senator Reid. STEP IN !!!!!

11. This or that - I don't know
Feinstein is a Corporatist Democrat (read DLC) up for reelection next November in a very savvy blue state. I wonder if Reid is giving her an opportunity to redeem herself with the progressive wing of the 'big tent' Democratic party.

6. Might be Shelby of Alabama he was on with Feinstein on Larry King
talking about it. He doesn't seem too bright. Feinstein gets mixed reviews here on DU..and her CA constituents here really don't like her.

 I guess they had to pick the DINO's to work with the Repugs. Maybe they can get something accomplished.

12. Apparently they're the ranking Democrats.
And people, if today taught us anything, it's that Reid knows what he's doing. Let's trust him.

16. I'm all for Rockefeller and especially Levin. But no to Feinstein
because she is in collusion with the neocons: her husband's company, the Perini group, is making mega-bucks on contracts in Iraq.
