Is it now time to call it the "Democracy Party" ???
Today it looks like the Democratic Party leadership has begun to fight against the neo-con-theocrat alliance. If they are to win, they have to represent the best interests of the people and stand against corporate power. They need to become an anti-totalitarian party that fights against the tyranny of the few everywhere in our economic, social, civil and personal lives.

Is the Democratic Party now, finally, taking steps toward becoming more of a "Democracy Party" that does honor to the best in our history? Is it time to use that phrase to express our hopes for the future of the party?

Oh, and if you encounter anyone who uses the term "Democrat" Party, be sure to include the phrase "Democracy Party" in all further discussions.

1. I did that this morning as soon as events took place.
I talked to people in the following offices:

Barbara Boxer
Diane Feinstein
Harry Reid
Howard Dean

It was a brilliant move and they needed to know about it.

2. It'd be a good move
The opposition is becoming more and more solid, so that might not be a bad idea.

3. We sure need a true "democracy party"
My view is that much of the political leadership has been so compromised by their reliance on corporate money that they have been unable, largely, to adequately represent "we the people." And it seems that Big Capital has thrown in with the neo-con agenda of further driving down the standard of living in the US and relying on Big Brother to take out the opposition. It seems to me that the only wasy to turn that fascist tide is by breaking those ties to the corporatist machinery.

If the Democratic Party remains compromised by those ties, they will remain powerless and irrelevant.
