Just what are they protecting us from?
In the past few days I have heard both dubya and scotty, when asked questions about the leak investigation say that bush has to get back to the business of PROTECTING the american people.

Just like Clinton used to say he had to get back to WORKING FOR the American people when he was trying to avoid the Monica thing.

Nobody questioned it when Bush said it. Is that why we have a President? to protect us? I thought the police, military, national guard ,etc. did that. Granted, some part of his job involves seeing that we are protected by the appropriate entities, but since when do we take for granted that that is the main job of an American President.

Personally, I, and I know many of you, feel like it is he and his policies and his administration that we most need protection from. But that's beside the point.

2. It is all a protection racket at this point
Edited on Wed Nov-02-05 02:36 AM by firefox
The Patriot Act is about controlling the American people just like the outrageous military spending is about controlling the world. It all hides in their protection racket the same way they protect a pot smoker from himself by locking his ass up.

The wealthy few control the country and the most powerful/destructive military on the planet. The National Defense Strategy is out there for all to see that global domination/conquest is the goal and while they claim to protect us, WeThePeople, just like they claim to protect the pot smoker, they are really trying to control us. The objective of government is not to govern, but to rule. Why is it that so many fear the government when they have done nothing that harms another?

Chomsky says the government does not want to use force. They prefer the fear of force to do the job. The Patriot Act might not pop out that many eyeballs but it will instill much fear. We have reason to fear that fear . That is all part of the plan of rule on the way to making us all slaves on Plantation Earth.

6. He operates by terrorizing us.
It's just like the old protection money rackets the mob has used.

They might tell a grocer that he needed to pay protection money. He'd ask, what for? They'd say, because then WE will protect you from criminals. He'd assume they meant they were protecting him from some shadowy figures, but what they were protecting him from was THEM.

Because if he didn't pay, THEY would smash his windows and ruin his business.

Bush is saying that as long as we follow him, he won't hurt us. So we have a choice: slavery and fear, or war with Bush. I choose the latter.

7. Well, then make some vaccine instead of talking about quarantines.
It's easy--just borrow some more money and pay off Roche.

8. tami Flu is NOT a vaccine
Edited on Wed Nov-02-05 04:07 AM by nadinbrzezinski
it is an antiviral

We cannot make a vaccine until we have a human to human HSN1 virus

Sorry just my serious note, Bird Flu, as much as george wants to abuse it, is a real threat...
