That was the best thing that could have happened to the democratic party.

8. I think it was Trent Lott last night who said that the previous minority
leader wouldn't have done something like this, and instead, would have come to talk to him privately. We know. That's why he was so ineffective.

9. Don't be too harsh on Tom
Who could imagine that the leaders in this country could be such thugs. When his office was 'anthraxed' it had to be a hard thing for him to come to the realization of just how crooked Bu$h and his neocon thugs really were.

After all, even today people have a hard time believing JFK was assassinated by elements within our own government, but the evidence is overwhelming that is exactly what happened. People want to think everything is in good hands. When confronted by evidence that the anthrax came from internal terrorists and those terrorists were being protected by the WH with the purpose of the anthrax as to disable opposition to the Patriot Act, it has to shatter a persons belief in who can you trust.

In the context of timing of both 9-11 and the Anthrax attacks, how can it be that the FBI was unable to solve the anthrax crime. The only reason I can come to is the investigators were somehow stiffled by their own upper management. There is after all only about 50 people that would have had access to 'military grade' anthrax. How hard can it be to narrow the field if there is only 50 suspects? No, the investigation was hamstung somehow.

Tom Dashle would have known this, and he was a target. When someone tries to kill you, it tends to leave a lasting impact on your ability to function. He served a long time in the public interest and he deserves respect. Our country and Mr. Dashle were targets of some very brutal people and these people are still in power.

I don't think these people will remain in power too much longer though. I'd say they are close to their end.

10. If you read the boi of Reid you will see he was
threatened and even found his car was wired to blow up after he went up against the Mob. He always started his car with a remote after that, this made him stronger not weaker.

11. Yes, Reid is different, no doubt about that
I think of Dashle as the sort of leader in a peaceful civilized time. Reid as a leader that surfaces when a war is underway and we 'the people' need someone to respond to those needs. I think it's a testament to our form of governance that somehow, the right sort of people surface to meet the needs of the times.

Again our country experienced a coup and that war is still being fought. Reid is on point in that battle at this time. There all sorts of people in this world, each one fits a function. What changes is the environment that places those that are needed in the place they are needed.

It IS working.

12. next you will be thanking whoever sent anthrax to Daschle's office
I get your point, I love what reid et al did yesterday and I am not a Daschle fan. but c'mon.

1. daschle is an honorable man, who indeed spoke up many times against Bush. Media hardly reported it, except to serve as a mouthpiece for the repiglicans who made hortatory statements about how evil and unpatriotic he was.

2. dems choose him to be the majority leader. They choose a Democrat from a conservative state. maybe your quarel is with them.

3. the rove machine and bill frist do not deserve "thanks" for their slime.
