He sure as shit is a repuke. Attended my friend's daughter's wedding last fall. Too bad that Patrick wasn't there, I would have enjoyed it.

39. No award winners. Nobody who "opens" a movie
And the Dem. list is full of Academy award winners and people easily recognized as the best in the business.
Sydney Pollock is one of the few with talent. The rest appear to be people who were on TV shows thirty years ago.

Well they can claim Mickey Rooney. He was always a little piss ant anyway. At least we get to claim the worlds greatest entertainer: Judy Garland.

She was very good friends with JFK. Even sung Battle Hymn of the Republic on her show for him soon after he was killed.

Some of those listed as Repukes are not.

In 2004, there was a little problem with this as well- Repukes claiming fake celebrity endorsements.

The ones that struck me right away just from what I KNOW are Prince and Toby Keith. Both of them are Dems, despite the occasional lapse of judgment ;-)

I have no doubt that there are others. The Repukes like to put us down for having most of Hollywood, but when they get one or THINK they have one, they milk it for all it's worth- Hell, THEY even put them in office!

99. I'm wondering about that too. Pro-golfers seem to have a very, very
high percentage of repukes among the golf elite. Even Greg Norman, who I remembered smoozed with Clinton during his presidency, donated in 2004 to the b*sh re-election campaign. What is it with them? It must be they don't want to give up those mighty fine tax breaks the repukes have been handing out to them.

that's the most recent thing he's done to gain some cult fame. He was also in the last episodes of "Angel".

His first movie role was co-starring in the movie "My Bodyguard", where he played the big kid hired to protect the main character.

That donating once or twice to candidates of a certain party doesn't mean that is who the person IS.

Sometimes people donate for political reasons, sometimes for personal ones. They might just happen to like one candidate of the opposite party once in awhile. I know a girl who is a diehard Repuke who donated a hefty chunk of change to her VERY liberal relative's campaign for Congress not that long ago.

As much as I hate to admit it, I have campaigned for a Repuke Senator because our families are friends, and, politics aside, he's a really nice guy. Now that I'm older, I would never do that, but for personal reasons and not political ones, I supported Don Nickles, the former Oklahoma Senator, for quite awhile when I was younger and less political.

One of the people (a musician) on that list made 3 $1000 donations to an unfortunate Repuke candidate and has spoken against Repukes for the most part ever since. I've met this person a couple of times, and the last time, he was telling people to vote to get * out of office...

Another (misguided) musician has been a big * supporter, but is otherwise a fairly outspoken Democrat. He actively campaigns for Dems in his home state (Oklahoma). I saw him earlier this year at a fundraiser for a local Democratic candidate.

Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was whored all over the place last year as a * supporter by the Repukes despite the fact that he's a Dem and a personal friend of Kerry (and he supported Kerry 100%). I guess they decided that since he's an enthusiastic gun owner that he's one of them. (Do a search on Newsmeat for Teresa (his wife) Tallarico (Their real last name) and you'll see who they supported in 04.

There is often more than meets the eye when looking at this kind of stuff.

People were skeptical when I mentioned last week that Marc Cherry, exec. director of "Desperate Housewives" is a Republican -- as reported in Entertainment Wkekly when the show first appeared. Lots of doubt.

His being Republican was noted since he's gay. And gay Republicans continue to be a strange combination.

Read a book. To call those who commit racist acts against others Democrats is a gross and dated misrepresentation of the party's current values. These were old Dixiecrats trying to hold onto their ideals after their little Klan dissolved and then associated themselves with Democrats. COME on.

51. Wikipedia
is as accurate as its users make it.

Usually gross errors are fixed quickly. On something trivial like this it may take longer. Personally, I'm not interested in taking the time to fix this article...I do see some mischaracterizations.

AS another poster stated above, many celebs donated once or twice years ago to local candidates that were repuke. That doesn't make the person themself a repuke or a Bush supporter.

Newsmeat gives a great rundown of donations and it gives a better idea of how to judge the donations and puts them into context.

I am tired of all this seperation. Movies actors, where we eat, are red and blue water fountains next?.I really miss the united states of america, and I really hate what the President has done in the name of division. Or too quote Treebeard from lotr - sides i am on nones side because no ones on my side.

Shannon Doherty? Well I don't have to boycott "Charmed" anymore since she's no longer on there and Alyssa Milano is still there. :D

I thought Dale junior came out against Bush this last time?

Kesley Grammer and Heather Locklear surprised me as being republicans. With Mary Carey she stated on the "Daily Show" she recently became a republican for money purposes only it seems.

Rather ironic, no? He's not only a Repug now, but a born again fundie 'pug. How he reconciles that with his stage show...the hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me. He also shilled for and gave money to Smirk.

103. What's more, Eastwood is now anti-right wing...
He was a Repug back when he was mayor of Carmel, but over the years he's described himself as more of a libertarian.

He publicly supported Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon when the National Baseball Hall of Fame cancelled their appearance (tied in with a screening of the film "Bull Durham") because of their opposition to the Iraq invasion.

At the time, Eastwood said of the Hall's decision to snub Robbins and Sarandon, "How dare they!"

http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/apr2003/nf20030417_9673_db009.htm
<snip>

And in the most eggregious assault on the rights of red-blooded Americans to speak their piece, Dale Petroskey, president of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., cancels an Apr. 26 celebration of the ballpark classic Bull Durham because the film stars antiwar activist Tim Robbins and wife Sarandon.

That caused Hollywood celebrities to rally round Robbins and Sarandon, with even Clint Eastwood telling Variety's Amy Acherd that the pair has the right "to say what they want to say, when they want to say it."

Petroskey's heavy-handedness also prompted the reknowned baseball writer Roger Kahn to cancel a scheduled appearance at the Hall of Fame in August. In a letter to Petroskey, Kahn wrote: "By canceling the Hall of Fame anniversary celebration of Bull Durham for political reasons, you are, far from supporting our troops, defying the noblest of the American spirit. You are choking freedom of dissent."

his politics unless he goes into politics, then the gloves are off. I know Kelsey Grammer is a Republican, but I always enjoyed "Frasier" and never missed an episode. I might feel differently about him if he ran for governor.

I don't want my job to depend on my political beliefs, nor my business patronized for the same reason. Really, we shouldn't do this.

126. They Forgot Joss Whedon!
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 11:32 PM by AnnieBW
Joss Whedon (producer of "Serenity", Firefly, Angel, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer) was actively campaigning for Kerry last year. That's why I was plugging "Serenity" a few weeks ago. Joss was urging people to have house parties, and he'd call them and answer any questions that they had about "Serenity" or anything else.

Ironically, at least two people from the Whedon-verse (Emma Caulfield and Adam Baldwin) are Repugs. Naturally. Emma played a vengeance demon named Anya in BTVS, and Adam played a gun-crazy, not-too-bright thug in Firefly. Talk about typecasting! :D
