Perhaps this is the way to register a complaint?
There is a thread on this forum which is intended to attack a republican congressman -- not on his views or policies, but on the way he grieved his child. In doing so, the poster and those who wish to chime in about the "sick" and "vile" practice have not only attacked the congressman, but every person on this board who has experienced a stillbirth and chose (usually at hospital staff recommendation) to spend time with that dead child.

Since I'm one of those individuals who took time with a dead child, I cannot keep quiet on this. Either DU approves of this type of personal attack or it does not. Either the DU moderators will pull that post or they will ban me.

1. I agree with you
As an ICU nurse, believe it or not,I have delivered a lot of stillborn babies to sick moms.We had a very tender ritual that we carried out with the parents and extended family. It's wrong to judge another's grief response.attack the politics, not the person.I would hope we are above their tactics.Bless you as you heal.

2. Death of a child - even a still birth - is devastating - how one grieves
is personal - but it takes years for the hurt to calm down to a dull pain.

4. Vile Is It Exactly.
Where are the mod standards if they allow crap like that to stink up the place. Just plain beneath us (I HOPE).

5. Use the 'alert' button - posting a new thread about it

14. Locking.
If you have a complaint there are two options. Use the alert button and allow the moderators to handle it. Or, you may contact the DU administrators by going here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/contact.html

I understand this is a sensitive issue but a post such as this one is not the appropriate way to register a complaint.
