So, will this make * more or less sympathetic here at home?
I'm wondering about the rally around the president kind of thing.

11. I hear too many people dissing him here in Freeperville for
that situation to create sympathy for him. I don't know anyone sympathetic to Shrub these days. And I don't see as many W stickers either.

15. Well, let's hope
I just remember these are the same people who worshipped him in 2002, so I guess it is hard for me to be too optimistic.

12. Damn, I wish things wouldn't go in this direction
It's probably Bush's goons instigating the protesters, so that Bush has an excuse to leave and then can resort to draconian security measures to protect himself at home.

18. Agreed- AND they are protesting the destruction of their FUTURE
Which Bush and his corporate buddies represent
at the summit.
Too bad Americans aren't as smart as the folks
in Argentina- they actually think the corporate facists
will spare them and their oh-so- precious mall trolling,
gas guzzling, ignorant and arrogant McMansion way of
Disney life on a credit card.

but we shouldn't play into their hands by resorting to violence. We don't need to.

22. Oh, dear,...you should know that I am,...
,...a NON-VIOLENT advocate. However, I do understand that those people are in far more desparate circumstances than I,...and desperate people do desperate things.

The U.S. has been predatory in imposing severe economic oppression on these countries, creating a LOT of desperate people.

21. Inside the summit, a dance program -- fiddling while Rome burns
Outside, banks burning, riot police with shotguns patrolling the streets. And this is only the OPENING of the summit ... How many days is this supposed to go on?
