6. CNN- "professional protesters and anarchists"
Wolf said the protests weren't as big for Clinton, but they happened then too. Of course, he said he was there for that one but had to ask another reporter to recall it for him.

11. Do you guys feel like we share some blame on the
direction the world has gone. I mean should we have allowed things to get so bad. I personally feel I should be there helping those people because I (of the opposition party) share the blame of allowing these things to happen without doing whatever it took to stop it.

14. We? DLC maybe, DU? Not most of us
Consume less, don't buy much. Don't support corporations and give Congress hell when they allow corporations to set policy, write laws and regulations.

17. Yes We.
We sat back and watched it happen. Oh we went out and did the peaceful protests and they laughed but we still allowed it to happen, you and me and everyone here at DU. We should have done more. We should have done whatever it took. All of us are guilty

13. 2003 redux
Published on Sunday, March 23, 2003 by the lndependent/UK

Anti-war protesters staged a fresh wave of marches in cities worldwide yesterday, focusing on US embassies and provoking clashes with police. For the second week, hundreds of thousands rallied on European and US streets, staging the largest series of wartime protests since the Vietnam war.

...

But a peaceful march by 40,000 through Berne, Switzerland, was marred by clashes involving 500 "Black Bloc" hardliners and police using water cannon and tear gas. In Madrid riot police fought running battles with anti-war protesters, hurling rocks and firing rubber bullets into the crowd, after nearly a million across Spain marched against the war.

16. Yeah, that Brit reporting from Spain at the time
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 06:20 PM by EuroObserver
was extremely unprofessional.

There were around a million marchers in Madrid (where most international journalists hang out & almost never leave) that day. There were at least 1.5 million marchers (estimates up to 3 million) in Barcelona - I was there and it was extremely, historically, large and impressive (including elderly people, younger families with their kids...). Plus other marches on the order of 500,000 in cities such as Valencia, Sevilla; hundreds of thousands in other large marches in the Basque Country, Galicia, cities elsewhere across the country and down in the Canary Islands (Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife) ... Calculate a conservative estimate of 5 million across a country of population 40 million men women and children (plus quite a few undocumented fellow-residents).

Poll after poll returned at least 85% against the PNAC invasion of Iraq - ie. without a legitimate UN resolution (following continued inspections). And that includes the majority of the then neo-fascist PM Aznar's supporters too.

18. 'At least 1.5 million'?
and up to 3 million? According to the organisers (as reported on a sympathetic website), 750,000 to 1 million.
