She certainly has a Miers-like crush on him and accidentally called him her "husband." What's going on between them? And do you think that having an affair with a BLACK woman would be enough to turn Bush's uber-loyal 30% against him?

I think that Rove probably does all the political moves too and Condi probably does policies.

It's more about the policies of the administration and his base will never leave him no matter what. Whenever you say they're racists in their policies they point to Condi and Colin Powell. :eyes: It does make you wonder. I thought Condi had a boyfriend who played football though? :shrug: I've never seen him at any events though. Did he go to the RNC convention with her? :shrug: I also remember reading how a long time ago before Bush met Laura he had another girlfriend who was African-American and he got her pregnant and his father was a very influential politician at the time and arranged for her to have an abortion (and it was illegal in Texas as well). So maybe Bush likes the black ladies. There's just something different about his relationship with Laura. You can tell in their eyes when you compare them to other politician's and their families such as Bill and Hillary, John and Teresa, Al and Tipper and even Charlies and Camilla from over seas.

She was brought up to believe that you try to fit in without rocking the boat and achieve status and respectability. So while the rest of her people were caught up in the civil rights movement, she was ice skating and playing the piano oblivious and indifferent to reality. At Stanford she avoided her own and worked hard for inclusion.
There is no affair going on here. Condi is just delighted to be seen as an insider. In her mind, the President values her and takes her advice. She really believes that she is oh so important. Afterall she is the first Afro-American Secretary of State and is seen with 'all the important people'. Sadly she is hated by all the people she avoided and will never be seen as anything but a sell out. She is going down with them and I look forward to the day when I read that she attempted to enter some elite club and was turned away at the door. I already enjoyed watching her walking a few paces behind Il Dumbo and his Stepford wife as they arrived in Argentina.

I know a lot of Condi's - they exist in large numbers among educated middle class Afro West Indians. Did I say Fugg Condi.

You can just tell by how she acts that she has this mindset of being better etc. It's sad actually. She could be using her influence to help the people she's tried avoiding. Why would you run away from who you are? I'll never get that. And for all we know they could be just friends. I had a guy friend when I was younger and he was like a brother to me. People who knew us thought we were dating but it was never like that with me until years later (go figure). I still have some feelings for him now but we don't talk anymore so I know that's hopeless, but anyways, for all we know it could be like that. :shrug:

Oh, I so agree with you here! In fact, when I was active during the 1960s civil rights movement, my dear friend Claudette would have ripped Condi to shreds by calling her an Oreo Cookie

Ive seen the glances and the sweet looks condi gives smirk. If I was a betting man I would say they had an affair and still occasionally fire it up.. Condi is being faithful to him even while she knows he is a married man. She knows they can never be a couple and she accepts that. Look what its done for her career? Only my opinion btw.
