7. We had a prominent citizen in our town with a Hummer.

He was a big guy, over six feet, an out of work CEO. He beat his young 5 foot Filipino mail order wife to death in the garage their 1.5 million dollar home after she came home from a tryst with the gardener late at night, stuffed her body in the Land Rover and drove it into a stream to make it look like an accident.

Then he claimed self defense and paid a lawyer big bucks to make his cock and bull story sound plausible. He got 5 years for "manslaughter."

The Hummer I think, says everything.

Other than that he's a real nice guy.

I just do not understand it. I have two four wheel drive vehicles, but I live in ALASKA where we drive on snow and ice for five months out of the year.

I would love to have a vehicle that gets 30 miles plus to the gallon, and if I lived in California, I would.

Why do people purchase these things anyway?
