4. HA! That just about says it.
They certainly ACT like sociopaths.

It's all me-me-me-my-my-my. That includes My religion, My reality, My history, My language, My race, My Constitution.... and on and on.

Their motto is: I get to decide the meaning of everything, so who cares what you think.

5. It started with Grant and becoming all powerful after Civil War
US Grant was a great and good man. And a simpleton on politics. Unfortunately, the GOP was all powerful after the Civil War, and that meant the Very Wealthy Industrialists controlled the GOP, and hence, the nation. They threw over the black folks in the South, and a legitimate Reconstruction effort, to retain power in the Hayes election. The Dems were racists, the GOP was incredibly rich and corrupt. They had all the money coming their way, and have ever since. Like today. But, once upon a time there were principled conservatives. They no longer exist. And that's the history, and power trumps all.

6. Once they started they had to add and branch out to cover the previous
corruption and do so in ways that the previous corruption remains hidden.

This is the reason I'm pissed that Clinton kept the books closed on BCCI. Had they been opened, there would never have been another Bush allowed NEAR the White House, and 9-11 would NEVER have happened.

8. It's a geeky boy's philosophy
A private moral universe created without the disadvantages of actual human contact or meaningful relationships. Life becomes a game. They do well on paper and advance to high positions without ever believing that other people actually exist. When winning is everything, corruption is nothing. Wow, that sounds like a tagline for a terrible movie...

13. Arrogance
Those with money and power should be allowed what they want to do with it, including stealing from those with neither.
